The Brilliant Steve Turner will be guest at Kiveton Park Folk Club, near Sheffield, next Tuesday 12th February. Steve had a lay-off from the touring for a while, to concentrate on his business but has been gigging again for a couple of years, attracting much acclaim. He's a great singer of traditional songs with fantastic concertina accompaniments, as well as astounding tunes. You can expect trad,Engish and American, ragtime and maybe a couple of classical pieces. Friendly club, cheap bar prices, free tea/coffe for the non-imbibers and grub in the break. £4 entry to non-members. All welcome. Get along to see one of the best performers on the scene!

Regards

Andy

I have been privileged to hear his latest record pre-release. I have to tell you it is brilliant.

I play a track (with permission I hasten to add) on my radio show today.

Playlist about to be posted on www.myspace.com/davepeyre

And go look up the story of "Dry Cardrona".

Yes Steve is a great performer and classy musician. Pity he had a layoff for a while but I will be at Kiveton to see him next week and recommend those who like good folk music to do the same.

Rog.

This is a tough thread title for a dyslexic to read. Took a minute to realize it was about music and belonged above the line . . .

I went to this gig last night and first of all can I recommend the club and the hospitable welcome at the club - which included sandwiches, nuts crips etc....brilliant. (And cups of tea for me since I was driving1)

Can I also commend Steve Turner to folk clubs and to festivals. This gnetleman's talent deserves to be much wider known - if you get chance to see him - go, you will not be disappointed. And his final "encore" song is a real show stopper.

Steve has only recently returned to serious Gigging after a LONG lay off - We had him at Maidenhead last year and he played a storm !!
