Just had to post this. As from today I collect my state pension, along with all the other baby boomers. I am 60, and still feel 17.

I retired in February last year & have 4 years to go to reach that magi8cal age - when I can get my Seniors Card & get lotsa' great discounts! Last year I also re-joined a club after about 15 years away & was amazed how white haired some of the members are - I, of course, have not aged a bit, but some these old friends are very elderly!

Thanks, all for your good wishes, and it's great to be in touch again.
I'd forgotten about the winter fuel payment!! We get free prescriptions here in Wales, anyway, plus they are free for diabetics like me, so being a pensioner is the triple whammy, perhaps they should be paying me to take their nasty drugs away!!!!

I think the inequality, which is being ironed out in the next few years, is to make up for all the sexist crap I had to put up with in the '60's and '70's, when I was paid less than my male colleagues, and had to tolerate their pathetic jokes about being taller than them!!! I knew I'd get my own back in the end!!

I think Jim's organising something for tomorrow, but it's a secret.....!!!

Happy birthday. I don't believe you are 60 ! I hope you have a long and happy "Old" age. Me, I've gone back to childhood with so little stress living up here on Orkney.

Have a wonderful time. You should always be remembered for the first Mudcat gather in the UK.That was a fun time.
