The only way China will learn and change will be from strong international pressure. Move the Olympics back to Athens for this year and tell China to kiss the collective arse of the rest of the world!

What a trite, uninformed comment given that they are being arrested and executed as mentioned by Bill D.

Everybody shouuld be concerned about the political persection and systematic elimination of a group like this.

They may be to you, Q, but they never have been to me. You believe strongly (as least as per your posts) in a free enterprise system. Their enterprise is their religion/beliefs. The persecution of Falun Gong is not justifiable simply because China sees them as "pests". That kind of thinking leads down a very dark alley inhabited by the ghosts of millions in the killing fields (Cambodia).

When Jehovah's Witnesses come to my door I say, "Thanks, but no." I accept the literature and they continue their journey. Anyway, I read your remark as an phrase meant to be humourous, not to be taken as stated..

China has a deplorable human rights record. This is one more example of it. Personally, I buy nothing that is made in China. I have informed their government of my decision. And I will buy nothing that was made in that country until such time as they improve their treatment of people. The Chinese government sees little value in their population. I await the day they are overthrown. May it be soon.

   Aum Shinrikyo ,aka Aleph, a Japanese based doomsday cult who's doctrine is a mixed bag of Buddhism, Taoism and Hinduism (cheif deity is Shiva the Destroyer). As far as I can ascertain there is no link between Aum Shinrikyo and Falun Gong.

In 1989 there was a brutal surppression of an uprising in Tibet

In 1989 there was a popular uprising in China which was ... er ... brutally surpressed.


Last year there was a brutally surpressed uprising in Burma

This year there is a brutally surpressed uprising in Tibet

And now the olympics ....

... I am thickening my skin in anticipation of the horror to come!
