Subject: RE: BS: 3 mudcatters I would like to meet & why From: PoppaGator Date: 02 Jun 09 - 02:12 PM In answer to SRS's question of 4:04 pm yesterday: JOhn joined Facebook very recently ~ within the last couple of days. When I got his friend-request yesterday and OKd it, his "status" was a request for information: "How do it put my picture here?" Someone told him pretty quickly, since he had a profile picture in place within an hour or less. At first, I didn't know who this "JOhn Evans" requesting my "friendship" might be, but then I took a closer look at how he spells his name, with that capital-J/capital-O. Aha! His Facebook identity lists his location as "Leeds." Is Hull in the area of Leeds, and too small a city to be a "network area" on its own? I hope that's the case ~ it would be tragic if JOhn from Hull had relocated! |

Would like to sing street rhymes with Azizi, and shantis with Charlie Noble, and perhaps bump into Joe Offer and wish him well for all his efforts on our behalf. |

Subject: RE: BS: 3 mudcatters I would like to meet & why From: GUEST, Mr Grumpy Date: 11 Apr 08 - 07:36 AM I shall always regret not having met Rick Fielding. So generous and charming in sharing his knowledge. Curiously (so long as she had no idea who I was) I would like to meet Diane Easby - not to apply percussive persuasion, but because although she comes across as the worst b1tch in the whole of the Mudcat there is an undeniable huge store of knowledge and information there. If only it was not inside a porcupine guarded by a viper and a portuguese man of war jellyfish with a wolverine in the background. |

Subject: RE: BS: 3 mudcatters I would like to meet & why From: Big Al Whittle Date: 09 Apr 08 - 11:01 PM Feel free to bribe me. I haven't mentioned anyone yet that I'm dying to meet. But a realistic offer of drugs, sexual favours or money could secure you a place on my top three. Mind you - I make no promises. The top three places are bound to hotly contested. And to be frank its a bit like those gigs on Jools Holland's programmes - even if you're complete crap - we might just let you rub shoulders withthe stars, if the fix is in. |
Subject: RE: BS: 3 mudcatters I would like to meet & why From: Genie Date: 09 Apr 08 - 10:49 PM Emma, I kind of agree about the 'beauty contest' threads, but I hope we're pretty much in consensus that mentioning a few Mudcatters by name in no way implies that they are the only ones we'd like to meet, or even necessarily our first choices. They may just be the ones someone happens to think of at the moment or the ones we've been PM'ing most recently, or whatever. G |
Subject: RE: BS: 3 mudcatters I would like to meet & why From: Skivee Date: 09 Apr 08 - 10:43 PM Well, Mister Ex=President-to-be Bobbert, I guess I can't stay mad at you after you tried so hard to serve your nation. What's a little monkey crap between friends. So I guess the only thing now is for you to choose which of Azizi, Wolfgang, or Mr. Noble gets bumped off my list by your return. You have to make the choice because otherwise I could be accused of vote rigging. |
Subject: RE: BS: 3 mudcatters I would like to meet & why From: Emma B Date: 09 Apr 08 - 09:48 PM I don't really like these reoccuring mudcat 'beauty contests' they remind me too much of one of my favourite songs, At Seventeen and the spectacle of mutual ego massaging is not a pretty sight :) However, three of the favourite people I have already met are all mentioned here and one of the people I hope to meet for the first time soon too - you know who you are folks! There are still good friends yet to meet and many to meet again I hope as well as some regrets. |

Subject: RE: BS: 3 mudcatters I would like to meet & why From: John Hardly Date: 09 Apr 08 - 08:11 PM That's supposed to read "PMs". Even I'll admit that "PMS" is funnier. So Don and I shared stories of our respective bouts with PMS. We did it via PM. |
Subject: RE: BS: 3 mudcatters I would like to meet & why From: John Hardly Date: 09 Apr 08 - 08:09 PM "People are not always what they seem eh?" Yeah. For instance, I've traded PMS with Don Meixner for years here on subjects from thumbpicks to guitars for people with lousy hands. He always seemed like a really nice guy. Then I met him last fall and he was exactly as nice and engaging in person. Oh, that's not the same, is it? |
Subject: RE: BS: 3 mudcatters I would like to meet & why From: Bobert Date: 09 Apr 08 - 08:06 PM Yo, Skivz, Sorry, man, but I'z still in morning, denial and absolute confusin about my failed candidacy... IO think I have subconciously blocked all of that out... Heck I didn't say nuthin' about Chongo, who I aslo din't actually meet since the two of you was in Raliegh at the our national head1/4's and I was stuck here trying to fugure out how Obama was getting million on this here computer an' we weren't gettin' jack... No, make that, "We were getting jack" but jack ain't what jack used to be... With the current excheange rate jack ain't even jack... You don't belive me??? Well, take a sack opf jack down to yer bank an' see what you get for it... You won't even get jack back!!! Sho nuff won't... But jack or no jack, Skivz, after me and my shrink get me thru my little situation about the campaign you will go to the top of my must meet'ers... I swear you will... Right now I'm still really messed up over my failure... I thought we could pull it off...I'd blame the chimp but it ain't his fault at all... Maybe '12??? I loves ya like a brother, Skivz...
