He's being really well cared for by the doctors and nurses at West Middlesex Hospital at the moment. I've downloaded and printed out all your messages to take with me next time I visit him - they run to 4 pages! He's not quite up to having lots of visitors just yet, but I'll keep you posted on how he's getting on, Heather Dyer. |

Subject: RE: Gerry Milne (Folk London) Unwell From: GUEST,Heather Date: 05 Jun 08 - 12:17 PM As Terry (oops, I mean LeadFingers!) says, he was sitting up yesterday at his bedside table, which was really good to see. He's getting better very gradually, but it's going to be quite a long while yet before he's fully recovered. I know he'd really love to hear from anyone who wants to send him a card at this address: Gerry Milne Osterley One West Middlesex Hospital Isleworth Middlesex TW7 6AF Thanks again for all the best wishes, we'll keep you posted on how he's getting on, Heather. |

Subject: RE: Gerry Milne (Folk London) Unwell From: GUEST,Heather Date: 03 Jul 08 - 05:41 AM It looks like Gerry has finally conquered the worst of his medical problems, but it's taken a long time and left him a bit battered mentally as well as physically. It's still going to be a long haul before he's out and about again, and I'm afraid he's not going to be able to get to Sidmouth this year. What he really needs now to help him pull through is to know that everyone out there needs him and believes in him. So if you could all send him a card saying that, it would really do him good. The address is: Gerry Milne Osterley One West Middlesex Hospital Isleworth Middlesex TW7 6AF If anyone is near enough to visit him, that would be really good too. Visiting times are 2pm to 8pm every day (but it's probably best to avoid 5:30pm to 6:30pm as that's when dinner arrives). Many thanks to everyone, Heather. |
Subject: RE: Gerry Milne (Folk London) Unwell From: The Sandman Date: 03 Jul 08 - 05:57 AM bit far for me to visit Heather, but please remember me to Gerry.Dick Miles |

Subject: RE: Gerry Milne (Folk London) Unwell From: treewind Date: 03 Jul 08 - 09:01 AM OK Terry &/or Heather - next time you see Gerry wish him all the best from me and Mary. Gerry is one of my oldest (in the sense of elapsed time) online folk acquaintances, having known him as a name on the cix (who remembers that?) folk conference, long before most of us had even heard of the Internet. I'll try and organise a card too, lack of round tuits allowing... Anahata |

Subject: RE: Gerry Milne (Folk London) Unwell From: Leadfingers Date: 05 Jul 08 - 09:24 PM Talking to Heather today - She thinks that at the moment a card from a friend will mean a lot more than a comment in here , as Gerry does not have access to a 'puter . Obviously , comments here will be there for Gerry when he CAN get access , but we both feel that something on his bedside locker will be better at straightening his thinking out ! The address is STILL :- Gerry Milne Osterley One West Middlesex Hospital Isleworth Middlesex TW7 6AF Thanks !! |

Apparentle he had been serenading the ward on a previous day ! Nice to know he can remember his songs , and put them over even without his concertina ! |

Subject: RE: Gerry Milne (Folk London) Unwell From: evansakes Date: 11 Jan 09 - 08:18 PM Just to report that Gerry put in an appearance at Vin Garbutt's gig in Twickenham tonight. He looked well and in good shape....he had his concertina with him too so things must really be looking up. He was a bit too late to cop a floor spot but stayed to the end so he must be on the mend (it was the latest we've finished for many months). Yes, Vin over-ran by about 20-25 minutes! (No surprise there!) |

Subject: RE: Gerry Milne (Folk London) Unwell From: Herga Kitty Date: 16 Sep 10 - 02:46 PM As for the Les Barker thread - it might be a good idea if a Mudelf could amend the thread title to clarify that yesterday's post has resurrected a thread that hadn't been revived since January 2009! Kitty |
Subject: RE: Gerry Milne (Folk London) Unwell From: GUEST,Pat O Date: 06 Jan 11 - 11:28 AM I'm sorry to see this, though it's an old thread and you say he is improving. If it's the SAME Gerry Milne, (we'd be going back over 30 years) he used to go to a folk club in East London that I used to go to back in the day. Well, until I went back to the Midlands when I retired in October I used to go to a couple of clubs in Romford. Of course not all the people I knew back in the day are around anymore, but it's good to see that there are some youngsters coming along to take over the folk music mantle. Hope he is continuing in reasonable health. Patricia O'Neill |
Subject: RE: Gerry Milne (Folk London) Unwell From: The Sandman Date: 06 Jan 11 - 01:22 PM hi,Patricia, I think that folk club might have been at deanery road Stratford.I used to be a resident there, Concertina Chap[chris timson] who visits this forum was also a resident. Dave Roberts is no longer alive, but Dave Surman is alive and well, as is Dave Rennolds[somerset Dave]. I have lost contact with the rest. Dick Miles |
