Subject: RE: BS: Congrats to Munster! From: gnu Date: 26 May 08 - 06:26 AM It takes leather balls to play rugby. |
Subject: RE: BS: Congrats to Munster! From: John MacKenzie Date: 26 May 08 - 07:23 AM Oblate too |
Subject: RE: BS: Congrats to Munster! From: ard mhacha Date: 26 May 08 - 07:32 AM A great win by a super team, well done Munster, but go easy on the nerves, just doing enough to win is hard to take. |
Subject: RE: BS: Congrats to Munster! From: John MacKenzie Date: 26 May 08 - 07:37 AM Oh and I forgot, well done the lads. Nice to see a real game (Not soccer)for a change. G |
Subject: RE: BS: Congrats to Munster! From: Rog Peek Date: 26 May 08 - 04:19 PM Since winning in 2006 and losing it in 2007, they played this season with an unequalled determination to get back what was 'rightfully theirs'. Well done Munster, a great win! Good luck to Declan in his new venture. Rog |
Subject: RE: BS: Congrats to Munster! From: GUEST,lox Date: 26 May 08 - 05:09 PM And nice to beat Toulouse as well. It acts as a moral salve for the pain of the way the Irish national team has given away their games against France over the last few years. It used to be that England was the whipping boy of the 5(6) nations. All is forgiven ... just as long as we can beat the French! |
Subject: RE: BS: Congrats to Munster! From: Seán Báite Date: 27 May 08 - 11:55 AM Can you lads and lassies please have a whiparound to send me some good earplugs as the whinging down here (SW France) is getting well nigh unbearable?? However the Aussies managed to give that particular label to the 'Poms' and miss out on the French, I'll never know... |
Subject: RE: BS: Congrats to Munster! From: Rapparee Date: 27 May 08 - 12:33 PM And I felt sorry for that guy from Cardiff who blew the penalty kick, too. |
Subject: RE: BS: Congrats to Munster! From: GUEST,lox Date: 27 May 08 - 05:06 PM Ha ha ... Sean, perhaps it would be more in order to video some of it and put it on you tube where it can be shared by some of us over here too. I would savour that sound like a fine wine ... or would that be pint of guinness ... I do hope you're milking it for all it's worth ... |
Subject: RE: BS: Congrats to Munster! From: Seán Báite Date: 28 May 08 - 12:54 PM Seeing as I only have a radio and occasional access to the papers - it's mainly coming at me through those media (bit hard to video :-<). Rest assured - there are enough sour grapes going around to keep a couple of UK supermarket chains in bad overpriced French plonk for a few years to come... Isn't that right Serge Blanco ??? If pressed, I do suggest that there is a Sevens tournament in Hong Kong they might like to enter, if they don't like playing with all 15 players... and Pelous will probably find a kick-boxing tournament around those parts too :-)) |
Subject: RE: BS: Congrats to Munster! From: GUEST,lox Date: 28 May 08 - 03:46 PM That's the spirit Sean. Looks like your doing a fine job of extracting every drop of enjoyment from the whole shenanigans. Our man undercover! Keep up the good work! |
Subject: RE: BS: Congrats to Munster! From: ard mhacha Date: 29 May 08 - 10:19 AM Sean, You will get a montage of the game on You Tube. |
Subject: RE: BS: Congrats to Munster! From: GUEST,lox Date: 29 May 08 - 01:49 PM Montage ... ... sounds suspiciously french ... |
Subject: RE: BS: Congrats to Munster! From: ard mhacha Date: 30 May 08 - 04:45 AM Sorry Lox I meant to say footage but my mouth was full of spuds. |
Subject: RE: BS: Congrats to Munster! From: Seán Báite Date: 05 Jun 08 - 05:20 AM Full of 'patates' ye mean Ard Mhacha ?? I saw the game on the night alright - though through beer goggles - if there's a montage of all the sour grapes since from the French media - I think I'll give it a miss though :-> |
Subject: RE: BS: Congrats to Munster! From: Rapparee Date: 05 Jun 08 - 08:43 AM Well, I saw the game in the Ventry Inn with a cousin-in-law who kept saying things like, "Well, it's not my game so I don't know much about it, but ya see, that pass will cause a scrum now. Would you like another pint?" Since he's one of Ireland's senior handball champions he probably doesn't know much about the game, but he knew about 99% more than I did. But I can tell well-played games I think, and this was one. |
Subject: RE: BS: Congrats to Munster! From: GUEST,lox Date: 05 Jun 08 - 12:02 PM Footage ... ... could be pronounced in a suspiciously french manner ... ... could be the "real french campaign" word for rugby ... Alors les Mecs ... qui veut jouer au footage? ... |
Subject: RE: BS: Congrats to Munster! From: Richard Bridge Date: 05 Jun 08 - 05:45 PM They make good cheese, and the occasional drinkable Gewurtztraminer, too. The Fete des Vins at Munster is worth a visit. |
