Subject: RE: Singarouds/Sessions near Oban, Scotland From: GUEST,Jack Campin (at work) Date: 12 Jun 08 - 02:43 PM There is a session in that old pub beside the river on Wednesday nights (or at least there was a sign saying so when I was there at a different day of the week a few weeks ago). Can't remember the name, the Argyle Arms maybe? |

Subject: RE: Singarouds/Sessions near Oban, Scotland From: GUEST,HughM Date: 13 Jun 08 - 08:04 AM I too was there on the wrong night, but I think the Wednesday session is in a venue called the Lorne. Look in the tourist information centre as soon as you arrive. Unfortunataly McTavish's Scottish show has been discontinued. Enquire next door about events over the weekend. |
Subject: RE: Singarouds/Sessions near Oban, Scotland From: Jack Campin Date: 13 Jun 08 - 01:16 PM Yes, the Lorne was it. I was probably getting mixed up with the name of the pub in Bunessan on Mull (which has ceilidhs regularly that I've never managed to get to). |
Subject: RE: Singarouds/Sessions near Oban, Scotland From: GUEST,GUEST dulcimer player Date: 13 Jun 08 - 05:49 PM Thanks, the Lorne was one of the venues I remember, also there used to be a pub at Lerags that had folk evenings, remember seeing Colin Grant-Adams there one night. |
