Subject: BS: Bargain-Bucket Flights are a con From: GUEST,Joy Bringer Date: 24 Jul 08 - 06:55 PM Saw an ad,earlier for cheap winter flights to Italy so I just went on line to book it. It's a bl**dy con. I ticked that I didn't want insurance, still it came up and I would be charged for it. Here is the breakdown of JET2.CON (Sorry .com) Flight £45.98 Taxes £31.50 Bags £13.98 Fuel Supplement £14.00 Total Travel Insurance £7.51 Total £112.97 Excludes payment card fee Easyjet was actually more expensive on luggage and fuel supplement. Why are these people allowed to lure people in like this. |

The flight itself is cheap... it's all the extras you'll need with it that cost. Bit like buying a cheap computer and having to pay extra for the monitor, keyboard, mouse and software. LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Bargain-Bucket Flights are a con From: Emma B Date: 25 Jul 08 - 04:35 PM 'European airlines will no longer be able to advertise misleading 99p or €1 fares on their websites or in their brochures under new legislation approved by MEPs today. By the end of this year displayed fares will have to include all unavoidable taxes, fees and charges, including those applied to security or fuel, and optional items such as travel insurance will have to be set out clearly on an "opt-in" basis. The new rules, already approved by the EU's 27 national governments, are particularly aimed at the websites of low-cost carriers which often insist on booking only via the internet. The European commission says one in three consumers is misled over air fares.' guardian.co.uk July 9th |
