Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: Raptor Date: 19 Aug 08 - 09:22 PM They need to protect him. he's great but not fast. Last year he was very good but the year before with the O-line not as strong, he shit the bed. I'm not sure who his targets will be in NY. We'll see. Raptor |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: olddude Date: 19 Aug 08 - 09:52 PM It will all come down to the protection you are right. Still a lot of football in the guy for sure. |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: gnu Date: 20 Aug 08 - 06:45 AM Pats fans... Have you checked out The Pat's lineup? I had a quick boo after I was half asleep the other night while semi-watching the WLBZ Boston late news and I thought I saw John Lynch in a Pats jersey.... I did! Same thing happened with Farve (well, it may as well be spelled that way). Half asleep and I see him in an odd coloured jersey and think, REALLY Green Bay?... what the...? As for the Argonuts et al, although I prefer Yankee football because there is more strategy involved, Canuck football is faster paced and more exciting. To each his own. |

A half hour to get the beer and snacks marshalled for quick access, make that last phone call, kiss the spouse, send the kids out to play, gas the lawn mower and find an excuse no to start it.... Okay, I could go on, but I need to get some stuff done quick. Enjoy! |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: PoppaGator Date: 19 Sep 08 - 03:19 PM Don't forget the Saints! They looked pretty good beating the defending division champs for Tampa two weeks ago, then stunk the joint out while being domonated by the Redskins last week. Three defensive starters were out with injuries for that second game ~ not to make excuses, but simply to note that improvement can be expected, either by the main guys coming back or the young backups gaining experience. Drew Brees is a pretty amazing quarterback. With Brady out of the picture, I think he's the best active QB not named Manning. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: gnu Date: 19 Sep 08 - 03:52 PM I didn't forget them... I said Denver... 10 Sep 21 17:00 NEW ORLEANS @ DENVER 3.25V 3.70T 1.60H Drew is GREAT! But, Denver at home... I hope. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: gnu Date: 21 Sep 08 - 01:25 PM Arrrrggghhhhh!!!! One game on the TV. ONE! And it's the Pats game. Man am I p****d off!. I know any time the Pats and the Dolhins play, it's an "anything can happen" game, but I figure the pats do have a slight edge today. I even splurged and bought a 1kg prepared veggie tray with brocolli, carrots, cauliflower, celery, and an excellent dip and a case of Bud Lite (it's on sale and I am a cheap...). I can't play football anymore so I gotta eat healthy eh? I even started a new exercise program... I put the beer in the fridge downstairs. What? First and goal for WHO???? Later eh... gotta game to watch! |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: gnu Date: 19 Nov 08 - 01:27 PM A guy took his blonde girlfriend to her first football game. They had great seats right behind their team's bench. After the game, he asked her how she liked the experience. 'Oh, I really liked it,' she replied, 'especially the tight pants and all the big muscles, but I just couldn't understand why they were killing each other over 25 cents! Dumbfounded, her date asked, 'What do you mean?' 'Well, they flipped a coin, one team got it and then for the rest of the game, all they kept screaming was: 'Get the quarterback! Get the quarterback!' I'm like...Helloooooooooooooo? It's only 25 freaking cents!!!!!! |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: PoppaGator Date: 19 Nov 08 - 01:42 PM I'm almost sorry to see this thread ressurrected, seeing as how very disappointing my Saints have been so far. Brees has done everything expected of a first-rate quarterback, and more, but he's pretty much the only bright spot so far in a .500 (5-5) season. Maybe we'll see a turnaround, starting with this coming Monday night, first game back home in the Superdown for a long time. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: gnu Date: 19 Nov 08 - 03:25 PM Hey... nowt wrong with 5-5 at this point in the season!!!! The dream teams are not doing much better. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: Raptor Date: 27 Nov 08 - 07:42 AM I'm on my way back to Buffalo this week but this time it to see My 49ERS. First time I get to see them. Unfortunatly they will get beaten to a bloody pulp. And the buffalo fans behind my seats take the piss out of anyone wearing visiting team colours, So much that it would wreak the game. So I have to go in plainclothes and not paint my face and chest. Raptor |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: gnu Date: 27 Nov 08 - 03:51 PM Paint and wear a Buffalo sweater? Cheer both sides? |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: gnu Date: 28 Dec 08 - 12:25 PM Well, it's that time of year again. I can't figure out what the heck is goin on. If the Pats beat the Bills and the Chargers... wait, ah... doesn't the wild card... aaaarrrgggghhhhhhhhh At least, for Xmas, I was gifted a Pat's hoody just like Belly's and I'll don it for the game, along with my football slippers. I also got a pair of matching sweatpants, but they are 2XX... I suppose I could take them apart and sew them into a lap blanket. Musta been on sale. Ya know, I'll bet TB knows more about who's gotta do what and who's gotta not do what than I'll ever be able to figure out without a pen and paper. |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: gnu Date: 30 Dec 08 - 10:32 AM Yup. They set a new record this year. Rod Marinelli is in the history books also. Meowwwch! |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: Michael Harrison Date: 31 Dec 08 - 12:38 AM Mike Shanahan fired? Well, one could just as easily guess that next year the Lions will go 16-0 and Dallas will win the superbowl. There is strangeness afoot in the NFL and it's "quest for parity." As for me, I'm going with the - RED WINGS! Cheers. |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: Bobert Date: 01 Jan 09 - 05:28 PM I don't care.... I'm jsut depressed because the Washington Bullets are like 6-24, the Redskins sucked again for the 18th year in a row, the Nationals can't land any decent free agents... So ya'll have at the festivities... I'm just glad that Dallas ain't in... Not happy, mind you but glad... Bobert (depressed hillbilly)... |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: gnu Date: 01 Jan 09 - 06:39 PM Yeah... I gotta go for The Steelers now... my fav team "back then"... when the Pats couldn't keep defenses off Grogan. Seems to me Grogan still holds the record for most broken bones, no? Like, 206 and some twice? |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: gnu Date: 18 Jan 09 - 04:44 PM Did you see that asshole knock Kurt on the ground? Why am I reminded that the Eagles are shithawks in disguise? Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: gnu Date: 18 Jan 09 - 06:55 PM Kurt is off to the big show again? With that team? Kinda cool, really. |

Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: gnu Date: 18 Jan 09 - 08:05 PM I gotta go for The Stellers. Typo intended. "Childhood team" after Grogan broke 207 bones in one game and The Pats didn't make it. Had to root for an "East Coast" team. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: JJ Date: 19 Jan 09 - 08:22 AM I am a Steelers fan since childhood, and I find myself about to watch the Super Bowl in Tucson, Arizona! Odd... |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: gnu Date: 01 Feb 09 - 10:17 AM Are you ready for some pregame? Over 6 hours of it. I think The Cards are gonna go for the big plays, on both sides of the ball, right out of the gate. If they keep the mistakes to a minimum, especially on the line, they have a good chance. Protection of Warner without holding penalties is gonna be tough, though. Steelers 24, Cards 20. |
Subject: RE: BS: NFL 2008 From: Joe Offer Date: 02 Feb 09 - 01:27 AM I don't watch football much, but I really enjoyed the Super Bowl this year. Great plays at the end of both the first and second halves. Good commercials, too. -Joe- |
