good...Peace.. lucky once again with the roads coming in....
very tranquil here,,, unlike 'bike week' and March break farther south

"There's accountants pulling Harleys behind new SUVs
As they roll on down the interstate toward the Florida Keys,
Their kids feel bad about polar bears, so they donate to Club Sierra
And they all wear those t-shirts with that picture of Gueverra"

yeah, Dix in French, pronounced 'Dis' or 'Dees', means Ten,
so I guess it could be 'taken' another way....

I'll have to ping between Penny Lang and John. At least there's nobody on opposite that Bruce Murdoch guy. He was pretty good last year. Had a fancy guitar player with him and a couple of chick singers.

Ron Bankley and some other fine folks I saw last, Jesse Winchester (didn't he do the 70's?) some new-to-me performers I'll undoubtedly love.

I gotta get me a parasol though.

When it's apple blossom time in Chateauguay Valley
Fine friends will gather from far and wide.
With old and new songs, and stories aplenty.
Come join us there, in the countryside.

Fine music then will rise into the air.
Laughter and applause will fill the Hollow;
Welcome all! We hope that you'll be there.

Okay, next...

So refresh to remind us of the musical wealth soon to gather.

Adrien,

I just saw the description of the Montreal Folk Reunion on your web site. That session would be a highlight at any big folk festival. I think you'ce scored a major coup with it.

From the Apple Hollow web site:

The Montreal Folk Reunion brings together six people who played leading roles in the vital folk music scene that Montreal enjoyed in the 1960s and '70s. They'll reminisce about the old days at clubs like the New Penelope, the Café André, the Back Door, the Yellow Door, the Karma Coffee House, the Golem Coffee House and the Montreal Folk Workshop, and show us why they remain important forces in the folk scene so many decades later.

Singer-songwriters Jesse Winchester, Bruce Murdoch, Penny Lang, Willie Dunn and Ron Bankley all started their careers on that Montreal folk scene. Host Mike Regenstreif started hanging out on the folk scene as a high school student in 1969. Soon he was one of its major organizers.

Hi everyone, been quite a while since I've posted. I wanted to mention the Fest is looking unbelievable this year and working with Beer is, as always an "enlightening" experience. I'm sure this year's lineup will make for a memorable day. Btw, Bruce we never did have that chat about stage presence, maybe this year...Regards to all and looking forward to seeing you there.

Hi Beer,

I did notice a spelling mistake in Jesse Winchester's name on the schedule page. It should be "Jesse" in stead of "Jessie." That's about it from this critic.

What's the Montreal Folk Reunion going to be about? Is that instead of the songwriters' circle?
