Subject: BS: Message for the GREAT leader, Flash. From: Big Phil Date: 25 Oct 08 - 02:31 PM A message for Flash, If it acts like a rat, smells like a rat, looks like a rat, is slimey in the extreeme, will destroy its own kind for self preservation and can be found on board a ship, then it may well just be a rat. Subject: RE: BS: Message for the GREAT leader, Flash. From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 25 Oct 08 - 03:17 PM Anyway, rat's aren't slimy as a rule. This might possibly be a reference to a current British political scandal. |

Subject: RE: BS: Message for the GREAT leader, Flash. From: quokka Date: 26 Oct 08 - 05:46 AM You might need to be more specific, Phil...your friends across the pond may think you're talking about Grandmaster Flash...or the actual Flash Gordon...or the local flasher...or...well you get my drift. Maybe give them a wee clue *g* |
Subject: RE: BS: Message for the GREAT leader, Flash. From: Cluin Date: 26 Oct 08 - 05:47 AM Or not. More fun this way. |
Subject: RE: BS: Message for the GREAT leader, Flash. From: gnu Date: 26 Oct 08 - 06:26 AM "... and can be found on board a ship, ..." On what? Cleary, the improper punctuation is is key or code. As Cluin has clued into, the writer has instructed boarding a ship, if certain conditions are met, including, "... is slimey in the extreeme, ...". Note the inclusion of a second "e" in "extreeme". Perhaps this is a signal that other letters have been added or misaligned. As McGrath has pointed out, "Anyway, rat's aren't slimy as a rule." Ergo, might the author have been conveying that the subject is rather English? We need Tom Hanks, quickly. |
Subject: RE: BS: Message for the GREAT leader, Flash. From: gnu Date: 26 Oct 08 - 06:45 AM Following, rat = tar? Sailor? Ship? Very English? Oh my! You don't think....?? TOM! |

Subject: RE: BS: Message for the GREAT leader, Flash. From: gnu Date: 26 Oct 08 - 10:00 AM Clausetrophobic too? Can't be restricted by proper puntuation? (yeah... I know... intended) |
Subject: RE: BS: Message for the GREAT leader, Flash. From: Big Phil Date: 29 Oct 08 - 06:05 AM Well it was more fun than listening to the "hockey mum" over the pond. What a joke that turned out to be, a car crash waiting to happen. Flash - Flash Gordon, Gordon - Gordon Brown (Prime Minister). Mandelson (probably the most hated man in British politics, regarded as a bit of a rat)- brought back into the Governments plans, one month in, spends time on Russian billionaire's Yacht, and ruins the Great Leaders comeback. (Rats and ships) Come on keep up, the American Do-Dah is now over, Obama will walk it, get over it. Time for a change over the pond anyway. What a mistake to bring Palin into the limelight, what a disaster waiting to happen, obscurity beckons. Phil* |
