Subject: Union Songs website VOTE NOW
From: mark gregory
Date: 02 Feb 09 - 11:34 PM

LabourStart asked its readers in January to nominate their favourite
union websites for our Labour Website of the Year competition, which
we have run every year since 1998. Union Songs was one of 170 sites
nominated.

Last month, volunteer correspondents voted for a short-list of 12 sites, and Union Songs made that list.

Anyone can vote. The ballot is here:

http://www.labourstart.org/lwsoty/2009/

just select Union Songs from the list and press Next

Voting will stop on 5 February when LabourStart will announce the results.

many thanks for your support

Mark

Many old Union Songs (even in the US) date before 1861 so there is prior usage for the name.

I imagine outside the US Union and Confederate songs are called US Civil War songs.

Anyway I'm appealing for votes for the Union Songs website to be the 2009 Labour Website of the Year:

Anyone can vote. The ballot is here:

http://www.labourstart.org/lwsoty/2009/

just select Union Songs from the list and press Next

last chance to vote coming up

thanks again

You are right I am lucky! Looks are important but my main purpose has been collection and distribution ... Naturally I did look at all the other sites and I think it's an interesting and important competition

you still have time to vote

The ballot is here:

http://www.labourstart.org/lwsoty/2009/

just select Union Songs from the list and press Next

thanks again for your interest

Labour Site of the Year 2009

This year's winning site belongs to the United Electrical, Radio and
Machine Workers of America -- and their website is located at
http://www.ueunion.org/.

The runners-up, in order, were Union Songs, Our Times, USLEAP and New
Unionism Network.

Thank you for the update. I am happy to see my favorite is the winner. Their format was bold, graphic, and uncluttered with relevant information.

Sincerely,
Gargoyle
