Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Energy to Stephen Hawking From: Janie Date: 21 Apr 09 - 12:26 AM Although I still can't understand 99.9% of cosmology and astrophysics concepts, Stephen Hawking has come closer to helping my limited brain gain some faint glimmer than has anyone else. Still no word regarding what has sent him to hospital, other than he is seriously ill. I'm going to be so sad when the light of his intellect goes out, especially because he thought it important to try to make cosmology accessible to us lay folks. Maybe it is his time to go. And maybe not. Regardless, sending light and good thoughts to a giant among men. |

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Energy to Stephen Hawking From: GUEST, Ebbie Date: 21 Apr 09 - 01:38 AM And I too. This is a man I admire. He was on the news last night; I believe they said he may have pneumonia. |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Energy to Stephen Hawking From: GUEST,Guest from Sanity Date: 21 Apr 09 - 01:42 AM Pneumonia, would be very serious, in his case, he would require(among other things) to be moved around, in different positions. |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Energy to Stephen Hawking From: GUEST, Ebbie Date: 21 Apr 09 - 01:47 AM On the other hand, I have been continually amazed at his longevity. At 67 and how inexorably his condition has worsened he has done all right. |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Energy to Stephen Hawking From: GUEST,Guest from Sanity Date: 21 Apr 09 - 01:57 AM One very healthy thing one does, to stay alive, is have the WILL to stay alive. His mind, being what it is, may go places we only imagine...or maybe further. To ask questions, the way he must do(to find the answers), might have taken him into places that presses that WILL, to be compelled, to find that one(more) answer!..and that need to explain it. |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Energy to Stephen Hawking From: Jean(eanjay) Date: 21 Apr 09 - 08:58 AM He is quite amazing. They are expecting him to make a full recovery so I'm sending positive energy to make sure :-) |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Energy to Stephen Hawking From: Mrrzy Date: 21 Apr 09 - 01:02 PM I want more TIME with him, even though I know that I have no idea what TIME is... |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Energy to Stephen Hawking From: Peace Date: 21 Apr 09 - 01:11 PM "Welcome to the website of Professor S.W. Hawking Monday 20th April, approx. 19:00 UK time Due to very high demand, the website has been simplified to keep the server online. We apologise for the lack of in-depth content, which would normally be available here. Professor Hawking is comfortable, but will be spending the night in hospital. The Cambridge University Press Office have a statement to this effect, and do not expect to have any further updates until mid-morning tomorrow. Tuesday 21st April, approx. 12:00 UK time Professor Hawking is being kept in for observation at Addenbrooke's hospital this morning. He is comfortable and his family is looking forward to him making a full recovery." (I reversed the order of the posts to make for easier reading.) Looks like he'll be OK. I sure hope so. He's an incredible man.) |

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Energy to Stephen Hawking From: Leadbelly Date: 21 Apr 09 - 03:21 PM All the best to this extraordinary man! |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Energy to Stephen Hawking From: Donuel Date: 21 Apr 09 - 03:40 PM The last time he went to the hospital was due to spousal abuse in which he did not press charges. |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Energy to Stephen Hawking From: Art Thieme Date: 21 Apr 09 - 06:57 PM I'm sure most of you seeing this thread know of the film "Forbidden Planet." ---- A while ago it became clear and obvious to me that Stephen Hocking was one of the very first to have the treatment called the Krel Mind Boost. ;-) My best healing thoughts and hopes go out to him now. Art Thieme |
Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat Energy to Stephen Hawking From: Dave Roberts Date: 21 Apr 09 - 07:06 PM Very best wishes to Prof. Hawkins for a full recovery. Like many others I have read 'A Brief History Of Time' and struggled to take its astonishing concepts on board, but I'm sure no one could have explained them better. |
