Only 3 & a bit weeks to the Fylde Folk Festival, actually less as it starts, unofficially if you like, on board the museum trawler 'Jacinta' in Fleetwood dock on Augest Bank Holiday evening.
Any 'catters' coming? Perhaps we could have a Mud Cat session [the Steamer has the best real ale in town!] Ron

Tunesmith " ..have I missed much?" Just a bit! Not that I am biased, well of course I am, but I think Fylde is the best [well one of the best] festivals in England. For a start you are not in tent! Theres plenty to do, concerts, sing/play arounds, sessions, dancing, Morris, Rapper, workshops and good real ale, what more can anyone want? Come along, & find out what you've been missing.

Poem 120 of 230: A GOOD SEASIDE DAY - AUTUMN 2000

Via the art gallery,
    Blackpool how it used to be;
Via a famous tower,
    The Blackpool of the hour.
Via a maritime Mount,
    Fleetwood with its channel out.
And, via a coastline tram,
    The autumn-night lit-art jam.

Is there any way of getting the full programme, with acts and times, other than through the 'festival working programme' link on their website? All it has managed has been to crash my PC - twice!

Fylde got off to a gradley start on Mon. aboard the 'Jacinta'. The fish hold was all but full [no, not with cod!].
Spitting on a roast got the evening going with a good mixture of 'nautical' songs ,Ross Campbell of Red Duster proved once again thathe is a master craftsman on the anglo, Scolds Bridle proved once again why they are regarded as one of the finest female duos around.
The Alan Bell Band sang a collection of Alan's'greatest hits', which inevitably included'Bread & Fishes'. Hughie Jones was the 'guest' artist, and like good wine he just gets better with age.
Today its folk in the lounge at the Steamer.
