I have just seen my old friend Tom Paley, with whom I had some good times when he was over here in England in the 60s-90s, on BBC American Folk History. Can anyone put me back in touch with him. Or are you there, Tom? Contact me - mgmyer@keme.co[dot]uk - Would be great to hear from you & catch up...

Michael - as ever!

My e-address is certainly ok, & I have indeed had one reply. I didn't know Tom was still here: I had thought he was back in the States. Would dearly love to get back in touch with him. Many thanks for these contacts, which I greatly appreciate.   Michael

An email to you still won't go.
I don't suppose Tom will mind if I post his contact details here as they've appeared in this forum before.
Email: 101320.1307@compuserve.com
He lives at the Angel, Islington and is still, I think, in the phone book.

Tom plays regularly at a pub session on Sundays within minutes of his home in north London as he has for years. He also frequents the Cellar Upstairs club.

I believe the e-mail address shown by Bore Chester Echo to be obsolete.

Come September, he's likely to be at any North London session / club you care to walk into, provided he's not in Sweden or the US.

Yahoo says there's something weong with the formatting of your e address. (Yes, I DID take the "dot" out).

Yes, I found that address didn't work. Never get to London folk clubs these days. If anyone sees him, pass my e-addie on to him perhaps. Sorry Mr B Echo still having trouble getting thru; but others have succeeded. let me risk putting it properly here, so you can just copy & paste it on to a Send form & see how it goes:

mgmyer@keme.co.uk

Try that...

Many thanks, Nick & all others who have offered help in tracking down old friend. I had got impression from BBC American Folk History prog that he was back in USA but now find he still in Islington as ever was. But today was coincidence in that I came across his name twice, on YouTube & in Mike Seeger's obit in this morning's Times, which were jointly what set me on this search. Once again, my heartfelt thanks for all help offered and given.    Michael

I've never met Tom Paley or heard him play live, but I've always loved his work - with Peggy Seeger and the New Lost City Ramblers.

I once asked ian Campbell, what he was like? Ian said, he eats a lot.   We couldn't make enough food for him. We kept saying, do you want any more, and he kept saying yes.

Its funny what sticks in your mind.

I was a big fan of Tom's back in the 1960's and used to perform his versions of a number of songs. Louise Collins, in particular, comes to mind.
Still performing at 87? Marvelous stuff.

That is not the email address that I contact Tom on. He may have several email addresses but even in the form that it has been given here, I reckon that an email address of a third party is a matter for a PM and not the universally accessible part of a chatboard.
