We are expecting our first flake tomorrow night. I'm blaming Micca.

On the South coast of England the colours in the leaves are beautiful this year - rather delicate, but so many shades of yellow to orange.

Some years they are like flames, but this is quite unusual.

It will be something to take photos of if we have any deep snow - we usually get a few flurries and a few frosty mornings, maybe a bit of fog now and again.

I have not yet had to put on anything over my tee shirt when going outside, that will not be until a few weeks closer to Christmas.

it is raining....severe weather warnings..
7" precip. predicted...with 50 mph winds....

here in the area where fire wiped out
most of the trees, there is fear of
erosion, mudslides, landslides...and
flooding.

yikes!

It's been coming down on and off all day in southwestern New Hampshire, USA. It's starting to stick to trees, tops of cars, the canoes. It's so lovely to see, early as it is, and the DH and I are cozy inside our mostly-finished house with the woodstove burning.

Haven't actually had a frost yet on the northeast Piedmont of North Carolina though that could change any night. Still have summer annuals in bloom and tomatos ripening on the vine.

Last week we had record-low high temperatures for the date (around 60), with lows in town in the upper 30s, and frost warnings in the area (and a cold wind!). Everyone was excited about putting sweaters on. (Or I was, at least!)

This week, we're having record highs -- around 90F.

No snow in sight... sigh.

We are having unusually warm weather here in Missouri. November is usually chilly, damp and gray, but today we have temps in the 70's and a blue sky.

Sorry if this seems like rubbing it in....

Looked pretty grim here this morning in Midcoast Maine, with snow coming down in big wet flakes. However, no accumulation.

Snowing at a pretty good clip in Pownal, Maine this AM. Two bad accidents on the short trip to Gray to take the park truck in for inspection. People seem to forget how to drive in it from one year to the next.

Today I sat on the porch and let the sun shine on my bare toes.

Since starting this thread on Oct 3, we've had two winter snow storms come through, but in the last few days, the weather has been like summer. Typical Montana weather... unpredictable.

Here it is November 6th and still no snow on the ground. We've had temperatures of 15 F, and snow on the mountains around town, but no snow on the ground in Anchorage. This is very bizarre.

When I say it warmed up here after the snow, it was 70F yesterday, just 2 degrees below a record high for the date.

Today will be closer to 60F, as we have a cooling off forecast coming.

It snowed in north central Pennsylvania last night leaving a dusting of snow on the ground. It was cold here too....we had the woodstove AND pellet stove both going. At the moment, noon on the following day, I have let the fire die and the pellet stove is off...it's a beautiful day and the snow is gone.

Snow started again last night and now it is as deep as my knees out there.

The post-h1n1 pneumonia caught up with me and I'm staying in bed with an antibiotic and a week off from work to recover.

Humidity is rising - Barometer's getting low
According to all sources, the street's the place to go
Cause tonight for the first time
Just about half-past ten
For the first time in history
It's gonna start snowing men.

It's snowing Men! Hallelujah! - It's snowing Men! Amen!
It'ssnowing Men! Hallelujah! - It's snowing Men!

No snow. Just lots of rain and wind.

I wouldn't mind a bit more snow than we usually get in a winter, but if I have to chose between that pile of white stuff that Alice is likely to be dealing with for most of the winter, and our mild winters, I'll take what I got.

About 4 inches up here in the Kennebec Valley of Maine, enough to have to shovel out the driveway and the walks.

We finally got some, a lousy inch that has already melted... we used to get feet every winter, but not for years... last winter was one slightly icy road and that was all (it was enough for me to skid on and take out a poor pedestrian, though!)...

Our snow is almost all gone, just a few piled gravel-seeded corners and curbs. It's brisk out but not bad. Expect down in the teens tonight, but with no wind it is nice.
