Subject: BS: Museum of Unnatural History From: Slag Date: 06 Nov 09 - 07:32 PM You see them in most major cities around the world: Museums of Natural History. All sorts of interesting stuff. Big bucks. foundations. Tax shelters. Learning. I've decided to start a Museum of Unnatural History. I have a space for it but that's not the problem. What to put in it? |

Subject: RE: BS: Museum of Unnatural History From: Amos Date: 06 Nov 09 - 07:45 PM Samples of things like rubber penises, plastic Halloween eyeballs, garden gnomes and lawn flamingoes--the history of man insisting on making things made to look like other things. Electric lights shaped like a taxi-dancer's leg, that sort of thing. Rubber dog turds, plastic fried eggs. Then in another section, artifacts from all the completely arbitrary and artificial belief systems from Krishna to Father Patrick in the boy's room. You've got half the Smithsonian filled right there. A wing dedicated to bizare cross-breeding or genetic experiments like Dolly the sheep. Maybe a room dedicated to Barnum;s side-show exhibits, genuine or artificial. A |

Subject: RE: BS: Museum of Unnatural History From: Stringsinger Date: 07 Nov 09 - 11:10 AM This from Wiki.........................A bullshit museum. The Creation Museum is a museum that presents an account of the origins of the universe, life, mankind, and man's early history according to a literal reading of the Book of Genesis. This museum has been heavily criticized by the scientific and academic communities as promoting "fallacy over fact" and attempting to advance the tenets of a particular religion while rejecting mainstream scientific knowledge. Its exhibits reject universal common descent, along with most other central tenets of evolution, and assert that the Earth and all of its life forms were created 6000 years ago over a six-day period. In particular, exhibits promote the false claim that humans and dinosaurs once coexisted, and dinosaurs were on Noah's Ark.[1][2] The museum exhibits are at odds with the determination of the scientific community that the Earth is approximately 4.5 billion years old, and that the dinosaurs became extinct 65.5 million years before human beings arose.[3] The museum has generated criticism by the scientific community, several groups of educators, Christian groups opposed to young Earth creationism, and in the general press |
