Subject: RE: Tune Req: Moccasin Shuffle From: Ernest Date: 07 Dec 09 - 02:00 AM No dots on the net as far as I know - and I did look.... I had a visiting fiddler, Adam Costa, transcribe it for me - pm me and I try to send you a copy. Recorded by Gerry and Bobby Robichaud "The slippery Stick" - different version called "Moccassin Two-step" by Jo Robichaud on a sampler called "The art of traditional fiddle" Supposedly learned from an Indian Fiddler. Best wishes Ernest |

Subject: RE: Tune Req: Moccasin Shuffle From: Stewart Date: 07 Dec 09 - 04:59 PM From The Fiddler's Companion: MOCCASIN TWO-STEP. American (?), Two-Step. From the playing of the late Joe Robichaud (d. 1999), a fiddler from northern New Hampshire who learned the tune from a trapper friend who claimed he acquired it from a Native American musician. The tune was untitled, so Robichaud invented "Moccasin Two-Step" for his version. Rounder Heritage Series 1166-11592-2, Oscar "Joe" Robichaud (et al) – "The Art of Traditional Fiddle" (2001).
