Just stopped by to see what was up in the mudcat world.    Hope all have had a wonderful holiday season, and wish you a prosperous new year. Jayne and I have just sold our house, will be moving in to a condo for a few months until we can build on our farm. I am spending more time messing with blueberries, grapes and fruit trees now and less time fixing teeth. Not as productive but lots less stressful. Let me hear from you and what you have been up to.   Oh, by the way, my do-wop group has added a fabulous horn man, plays sax, flute and trumpet. He has motivated me to get the old trumpet out and we are practicing some great old songs like Grazin' in the Grass,   Watermelon Man, and Mercy, Mercy, Mercy. Haven't played since the mid 70's but a month of everyday practice has done wonders!

I would wish you a healthy embrasure, but I don't know how to spell it.

SOrry about the empty message, apparently a filling fell out! Here is the gist of what I sais when it got erased:

So nice to hear from so many old friends. We are building our new home overlooking a couple acres of wine grapes that are in the process of being planted. I have about a half acre out now and the rest are going in the ground in the spring. The deer are bad about stripping the vines late in the season, so I do have to deal with this problem. Behind the vineyard, the view will be my 2 acre pond. Jayne and I spent a few hours recently picking out $360 worth of bald cyprus and weeping willow to plant around the pond. We got back from a Christmas vacation to find 2 things: first the trees were missing, second, the pond water level was up 4 feet, and almost running over the dam. I finally was able to locate the2 18 inch drain pipes to find them stuffed with a network of branches leaves and mud held in place with the sharpened saplings I had recently purchased.
Now I don't want to say I have never been guilty of shooting beavers, but this may call for drastic measures. They are such cute little cuddly furry friends, but right now I look on them as the enemy!!!   THanks for the nice messages!   jimmy t
