A man in Easton, PA, who helped stage the Hally Wood Tribute in NYC a few yrs ago, had a deal with a local(to him) outfit to edit the video/recording which was made. Quality was not fabulous, but he & those he knew were trying to get the best of what was there. He had health probs which kept putting things off. Finally, before he could send all materials to me so I could see to getting it done, he had a stroke. Think he can talk on phone now, but can't get to Penns. to see him & state of things so I can get stuff back. Anyone in Pennsylvania who might help get through to him--or those who are managing his personal business--so I can resolve this issue? Any ideas? All suggestions gratefully received & considered. Cynthia, we haven't heard from you in ages. I looked -- you took several years off. I hope they were productive, and I'm glad to see you back.

Having a little information about Hally Wood from our off-line discussions, this sounds like an important performance, and I hope you're able to rescue all of the bits and pieces. I have an acquaintance in the Allentown/Bethlehem area who I haven't done more than email with in the last couple of years, but I wonder if push came to shove if she could simply pick up something and ship it to you? I could ask, if you think the task would be that cut and dried.

I think SharonA is in that general area. W y s i w y G ! is also in PA, not sure how close. And of course, Max is in the middle of PA at Penn State (I think that's the correct part of the university system he works for).

Easton is about as far east as you can go in Pennsylvania, about 50 miles north of Philadelphia. It's right near Bethlehem and Allentown. I went through Easton last October on my way to the Sing Out! office. If was dark and I couldn't see much, so I can't give you much of a travelogue. I didn't see anything that made me want to go back to Easton. It's 184 miles from State College.

Have talked to my friend in Easton. His name is Jim Mason. He's improving. He can walk & talk. He has a doc. appt. tomorrow & an appt. at Soc. Sec. on Fri. He has not so far been able to sort out his apartment, where he still lives, but is expecting to start this week. He won't have his hands on "my stuff" until next week at the earliest, he expects. That gives us some time to "visit" with helpful 'Catters who may be able to make arrangements to go see him & send my stuff on. This could work out well. Don't stop the idea flow...Tw

FWIW, Easton is right on the Delaware River, which defines the boundary between Pennsylvania and New Jersey. (It's where I-80 crosses the river.) If we have any members living in northwestern NJ, they might be as close or closer to Easton than the Allentown/Bethlehem area.

Actually, since NJ is considerably smaller in area than PA, anywhere in Jersey is closer to Easton than central and western Pennsylvania (i.e., closer than Max or Susan).

Incidentally, Easton does have at least one semi-legitimate tourist attraction, the Crayola factory tour. Also notable: Easton is the birthplace and hometown of a retired boxing champion (can't remember which guy) who has returned to his "roots" and donated considerable time and effort and money to various civic improvements.
