Finally... this big bully has been loose for toooo long... I didn't watch much hockey this year but when I saw him pick fights with smaller guys for the sole intention of beating them up it made me sick (you can watch it on You Tube... my buddy thinks it's funny to show it to his 8 year old son!!! It teaches the lad about REAL life!!! Fer fuck sake!!!???).

I hope this piece of shit does jail time. Seeing him hoist Lord Stanley's Cup was truly unreal for me. He's the reason I watch hockey so little these days. Boston was the better team but if this guy helped them win by his dirty tactics I really don't wanna see any more hockey ever again until this kinda crap is stopped.

MONTREAL - Zdeno Chara hoisted the Stanley Cup as captain of the Boston Bruins two weeks ago. Now the big defenceman will have something else on his hands: a meeting with Montreal cops.

Montreal police announced Tuesday that they intend to question Chara soon — but they wouldn't say when or where they planned to do it.

A probe is nearing completion into the Chara hit last March that sidelined Montreal forward Max Pacioretty and sparked demands for a crackdown on hockey violence.

A police spokesman said Chara was the final person they needed to speak with to complete their investigation; after that, the Crown will decide whether to press charges.

"The last person to meet is the person targeted by the investigation and that will be done in the coming weeks or months," Ian Lafreniere said.

"In terms of whether or not it's going to happen in Boston or whether it will happen here (in Montreal), we don't discuss those details and we never publicize the fact that we're meeting a suspect."

The combination of Chara's high profile and the hockey-mad culture of Montreal have made for an unusual case.

When Chara shoved his rival into a stanchion, breaking a vertebra and ending his season on March 8, he received a game misconduct.

The NHL, however, ruled the hit was legal and did not hand out a suspension. That prompted a flood of calls to the Montreal police switchboard where ordinary Montrealers offered to report an assault.

Quebec's director of criminal prosecutions then ordered an investigation into the hit, which will ultimately result in the police encounter with Chara.

The meeting has taken a while to set up; police declined to question Chara during the Bruins' two-month championship playoff run.

"Most of these people were hockey players so in terms of (them being) available was hard because they were involved in the finals also," Lafreniere said.

Lafreniere noted that the Boston Bruins have been extremely co-operative, having hired a Montreal lawyer to act as an intermediary.

Experts have weighed in that they felt it was unlikely that Chara would face any charges.

Pacioretty, himself, has said he was "upset" and "disgusted" that a player could get away with such a hit and not be punished by the NHL. However, he has also said he disagrees with resorting to criminal prosecution.

Pacioretty reacted Tuesday with a terse statement on his Twitter page: "Last comment on this: I hope Chara is NOT prosecuted. I have moved on from my incident and I hope everyone else can do the same," he wrote. "All I am focused on is getting ready for next season, and will no longer comment on the past."

The promising young forward, who also sustained a concussion, recently signed a new two-year contract with the Canadiens and is expected to be ready for next season.

News of the police plans to question Chara triggered instantaneous, scornful reactions from Boston media and fans on Twitter.

One typical fan comment quipped: "Montreal police are still bringing in Chara for questioning? Waste of taxpayer dollars. I hope he brings the Cup with him."

Another Bruins fan joked: "I can imagine the line of questioning now. 'So, Mr. Chara... What's it (like) to win the Cup? Can we have a picture?'"

Hahahaaa... but still unreal... sickening and disgusting. Fact is, if that is the way they behave because of the reffing perhaps it's better that the Canucks lost (to a BETTER team) so their true colours are seen... fuckin ASSHOLES! I am appalled.

Ten minutes... no way. Well done Boston!

The only thing I liked about this game was seeing that big asshole bully Chara getting an elbow in the head from the blind side. I have seen little hockey this year but when I see a guy that big pick fights with smaller guys just to beat the shit out of them when they won't back down for ratings by viewers with a warped sense of reality... well... I wish he had ended up off the ice for good. It's that kind of crap that caused me to stop watching hockey years ago.

Until the rules are enforced and the goons are gone... even the Stanley Cup finals are hard to watch for me. I had hoped it would change in the final games but it didn't. I think this is the last year for me. Too much dirty play on both sides. Too much piss poor reffing... all obviously paid for by the beer companies, the advertisers, the owners, the networks...

leafs fans are delusional to think that many habs fans or the team cares about toronto--or has for forty years. the habs have a real rival and its the bruins--too bad we couldn't have given the leafs two graboskis so they wouldn't have given the bruins the sequin.no one cares about the leafs but leaf fans

the leafs will be awfull untill they management that cares about winning and not just making money.

burke is signing neanderthalls. maybe they make the playoffs next year but really the odds are against it. they keep going for goons and ignoring the draft. i did think the colborn acquisition was good. but their defense really needs coaching to play defense and not just to try amd take everyones head off and getting out of position all the time.

the habs prospects are good. price and suban are the real deal and there are a dozen good prospects in the system. they do have to send gomez to the minors and concentrate in signing the talent they have, and maybe a top forward if they can.

but really leafd fans , NO ONE SCARES ABOUT THE MOST SCREWED UP TEAM IN THE LAST FORTY YEARS. SO WHAT IF THEY GET UP FOR HABS GAMES--WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER 76?

Well I certainly have a horse in this race and have been a long suffering Canucks fan since '82. Seen them play a number of times, even saw Gretsky when he played for the Kings. Not bad for an Irishman, (me, not Gretsky).

I'll be in Vancouver on the 15th. I'm hoping the final will last that long. It would be nice to catch the buzz in the city on game 7.

Hockey,
yes I am disappointed that the Wings are out but not that sad.   Old age creeping in I guess. However, I just want to say that i have been treated over the past recent years to some extraordinary play by a few individuals on the Red wing team. now I am not a Leaf,Canadian, Boston or all the other team followers, but I do appreciate Excellencies when i see it. To me Linstrum, Dys...,are tops. They will not be around for much longer but i can chearish their wonderful play and sportsmanship. Like Gnu, I will now lean to wards Van.Canucks but Will also watch the Yzerman team as a second choice.

There's no shame in (closet)cheering for a team that has won 23 cups!

When I pick my "all-time" 1st team of all-stars, there will be one guy who played briefly for the Leafs and maybe as many as 3 Canadiens!

I would love the Leafs to get back on track. To the point where I have considered selling my soul(Lucifer cowered at the thought, and said he couldn't afford it). My Leafs shirt, with the statement "There's always next year!" has become a holy relic and been retrieved from the "rag bag" on numerous occasions over the decades!

I'm trying to do something different this year(Canucks), hoping it will make a difference next year!

For the 6th season in a row, I have to pick another team to cheer for during the playoffs!
Always been a closet Canadiens fan.
Cheered for Philly when a cousin played for them.
Can't stand the Capitals.
Not big on the Penguins.
Nashville just means I have a "Pekka" in my playoff pool!(cold and deep too)
Ducks are good eating.
Lightning never strikes twice in the same place.
Rangers need Messier to guarantee things.
Boston is just like a "big ugly bear.
Sabres are as dull as a butter knife.
Detroit can't fly on one wing.
Coyotes are a nuisance.
Blackhawks have almost been wiped out already once this year.
Kings will get de-crowned.
Sharks are endangered.
Canucks....hmmm, the Canucks? J/C...don't tell anyone!

(just for the giggle folks)

Dear Abby,

I am a crack dealer in Brockville, ON who has a steady flow of
customers from the nearby high school. My parents live in a suburb of Toronto and one of my sisters, who lives in Kitchener, is married to a transvestite.

My father and mother have recently been arrested for growing and
selling marijuana and are currently dependent on my other two sisters, who are prostitutes in Hamilton.

I have two brothers. One is currently serving a life sentence with no parole for 25 years for a murder in 1994. The other brother is currently in jail awaiting charges of sexual misconduct.

I have recently become engaged to marry a former Thai prostitute
who lives in Windsor and is still a part-time "working girl" in a
brothel.

All things considered, my main problem is this: I love my fiance
and look forward to bringing her into the family. I certainly want to be totally honest with her. Should I tell her about my cousin, who is a Leaf's fan???
