Too bad about the stadium. It seems a roof in Minnesota should have been built to withstand a heavy snow.

Too bad it was the Giants, too. If they had been playing the Packers, they probably would have stayed in Minnesota and played the game in the snowdrifts.

It wasn't even a real roof from what I heard. It was more of an inflatible balloon than anything else.

yes i heard the term teflon used to describe it also "inflated" so
i guess it is not such a surprise...but it DOES seem that it should
have been designed to withstand snow!

I'm just watching a program about the demolition of the RCA Dome, which also had an inflated roof. Did it ever suffer from punctures?

Seriously, engineers can build such structures that don't collapse but architects and politicians make more money than engineers by telling engineers to build them cheaper and then blaming engineers when the structures fail. Happens every day.
