Crossrail has been given the go-ahead and costs were estimated at £16,000,000,000 (do these projects ever come in under budget)

At that price I was interested to see where it would run so I have surfed the internet for a map of the authorised line (not just a blue line with blobs on) either in relation to the existing London rail network or against a proper map of London and I have drawn a blank.

Can anyone point me to one?

I think you need to go to the Parliamentary papers. The
Supporting documents indexed on this page give very fine detail.

Try Key Plan 1 for a start - you have to select, then download from the page that follows. The pdf files are reasonably small, but for more detail than the key plans show, you will need to download dozens.

There are some details that were changed in the final passage of the Bill. They are listed, but the plans have not been updated to show the changes AFAIK.

Happy hunting!

Phil

Thanks Phil, but at the risk of sounding really ungrateful 44 separate line drawings extending a few yards either side of the line is not quite what I had in mind !!

It's difficult to believe that such a thing does not exist but this poor quality image is the best I've found yet - flickr

And certainly no route superimposed on a streetmap .... yet

It would probably work better without the dots Richard :-) but thanks anyway, I'll have a look through the site.

Not easy is it !!
