Subject: Possible Yorkshire Folk Gathering From: Mrs.Duck Date: 08 Jan 11 - 07:53 AM Who would be interested in a Yorkshire Folk Gathering in May (hopefully 20th). The higher the numbers the better the deal I can cut with pub owners. Hoping to get use of a function room if we promise to eat at least one meal. Pub has field and real ale. A simple hands up at this stage should give me enough info to take to landlord :-) |
Subject: RE: Possible Yorkshire Folk Gathering From: Banjo-Flower Date: 08 Jan 11 - 07:58 AM Possibly Gerry |
Subject: RE: Possible Yorkshire Folk Gathering From: Mrs.Duck Date: 08 Jan 11 - 07:58 AM As Shepley is also the 20th and Holmfirth the 6th a better date would be the 13th. So 13th May any interested :-) |

Subject: RE: Possible Yorkshire Folk Gathering From: nutty Date: 08 Jan 11 - 08:52 AM I really enjoyed the weekends we used to have. Meeting other Mudcatters was always a pleasure. I hope that I can make it. |

Subject: RE: Possible Yorkshire Folk Gathering From: GUEST,BanjoRay Date: 08 Jan 11 - 09:41 AM 13th or 20th good for me if it doesn't clash with Doncaster. |
Subject: RE: Possible Yorkshire Folk Gathering From: r.padgett Date: 08 Jan 11 - 10:01 AM My diary has pencilled in: April 30/May 1st Wath May 6th/7/8 Holmfirth May 13/14/15 Shepley May 20/21/22 Doncaster May 27/28/29 Spring bank hols (where you will) Up to you good ppl Ray Padgett |
Subject: RE: Possible Yorkshire Folk Gathering From: GUEST,Liz Davenport Date: 08 Jan 11 - 12:21 PM Sorry then Ray as those are not the dates advertised for Shepley. |
Subject: RE: Possible Yorkshire Folk Gathering From: r.padgett Date: 08 Jan 11 - 12:51 PM Liz you are correct, Shepley show as a week later!! So that being polite has made a mess of Doncaster and left the previous week free! Some ppl are going to be perplexed Thanks, Liz |
Subject: RE: Possible Yorkshire Folk Gathering From: Mrs.Duck Date: 08 Jan 11 - 02:05 PM Well we are pencilled in to the pub for the 13th. Cost of camping will be £4 per night for caravans or £2 a night for a tent regardless of number of occupants. May be room for negotiation but seems fair enough. All at discussion stage at moment but landlady said may be able to do breakfasts if enough takers. Sorry if it clashes with something but I suppose it is inevitable sometimes. |
Subject: RE: Possible Yorkshire Folk Gathering From: Nick Date: 08 Jan 11 - 02:28 PM Is this likely to be same sort of part of the world as previously ie not a million miles from Selby? If I'm about no doubt come and have a sing or play depending what sort of thing it is. Be nicer if it was a slightly more friendly response from the locals than the last one I came to. |
Subject: RE: Possible Yorkshire Folk Gathering From: Mrs.Duck Date: 08 Jan 11 - 03:41 PM It will be closer to Wakefield Nick. Can't speak for the locals although they seem a good crowd. We will also have use of the function room so whilst welcoming friendly outsiders would have the right to ask them to politely shut up or ship out :) |

Subject: RE: Possible Yorkshire Folk Gathering From: robstott Date: 12 Jan 11 - 02:35 AM I'd be interested in principle - of course depending on when, where etc! r. |
Subject: RE: Possible Yorkshire Folk Gathering From: Mrs.Duck Date: 27 Jan 11 - 02:54 PM The pub is the White Horse Old Sharlston WF4 1EP and date is 13th May. Nearest B&B is the Redbeck Motel according to my searches. We are hoping that the pub will do breakfast if there is enough interest. Also wondered whether folk might be interested in a pie and pea supper or something on the Saturday night or of course the pub does very good pub food. |
Subject: RE: Possible Yorkshire Folk Gathering From: Dennis the Elder Date: 27 Jan 11 - 10:49 PM Nice Choice. Living in Hemsworth, I could walk there in around 45 minutes!!! It may be possible to camp on the "common land", not to far away if the council allow it. Hope to be there. |
Subject: RE: Possible Yorkshire Folk Gathering From: Mrs.Duck Date: 28 Jan 11 - 09:45 AM Pub has a reasonable sized field which should be plenty big enough. £2 per night tent £4 caravan all occupants included. Very easy to walk from Hemsworth. |
