I'll let you know nearer the time, just in case I am in the middle of renovations. (This all depends on me being able to afford the work this year, builders being available, and pre-work conditions being met).

Should be able to drive to and fro from Eggborough, if I'm able to kip down at Nen's.

Andrea

Another suggestion was a batch of chili, veg curry and rice but will no more when I've spoken to Caroline (landlady) tonight. Seem to be a good few coming and hopefully more when the news spreads. It is not an exclusive Mudcat weekend so please feel free to invite folky friends just keep me informed for numbers etc.

I'll be floating the date [Friday the 13th - Arrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh!] past the social committee this evening to see if they'll let me come.

Will there be an al fresco minimalist open plan loo in the middle of the campsite like the one when I came your do before?

I don't think so Mr Happy. Toilets will be open until late and then early in the morning and there are bushes all round :)

Plenty of showers, I think it rains quite alot around Sharlston Common.
Especially in the rhubarb growing season.

Hello folks

As penniless house renovation monkeys, a folk gathering is a welcomed break from concrete and joists. I will consult with my chief engineer and see if we will be deserving of a weekend off by May 13th, though I am not sure if the lack of showers could cause him to baulk (he is rather a fastidious boy!) At the very least I will bargain hard for a day pass!

Jane

Hi, Dancing Ann- if you're asking 'do we dance at Mudcat gatherings', the answer is 'it has been known' :)

It all depends who is going- in times past we have had gatherings in places with a hall where dancing could take place and a scratch ceili band got together to play for dancing- good fun.

I don't think that is on the cards for this gathering though- probably music and singing sessions- and chatting- but again, it depends who is there.

Does that answer your question?

Thanks for your reply, Noreen.

I enjoy folk dancing and am starting to get into border morris. I play a bit of melodeon and my husband plays various instruments, including piano accordion (sorry, foggers). We are looking for music/dancing events to go to at weekends in our camper van.

You did answer my question, thanks, and we might see you sometime soon.

Hopefully there will be something for everyone during the weekend. There are no plans set in stone and at the end of the day it will depend who actually turns up. The landlady told me yesterday that she had to turn down a wedding (big profit) so hopes we'll be doing plenty of drinking. I said I'd see what we could do :)
Six weeks to go :)

foggers - Someone was asking just a couple of days back if there were any plans for another session this year. As far as we are concerned, we are just starting to think beyond Christmastide and haven't got as far as May yet.
If we do sort out a weekend, we try not to clash with nearby folk events and we haven't looked at dates of local Folk Festivals yet.
We enjoyed last year, and the pub seemed to like us being there, so we probably need to decide fairly soon.
I'll tell Mrs Duck you were asking.
Quack!
Geoff.

p.s.
From: GUEST,Guest - Did anything actually happen in 2011?
I seem to remember revolutions in Egypt and Libya. A royal wedding. Bin Laden got shot. Greece went bust. Kim Jong got Ill, and a few folkies sat in a pub field on a fairly windy weekend in May.
Quack!
