Subject: BS: 52 horses in Ohio need homes From: VirginiaTam Date: 02 Feb 11 - 05:30 PM Below is from a friend of my daughters who works with horses. She asked friends to put in facebook status. I am taking it one step further. 52 thoroughbred horses need homes. Will go to Sugarcreek this Saturday for slaughter. Gentleman died and his son wants nothing to do with them. Most broodmares are broke and some are in foal, weaning, yearlings, 2 yrs and 3 yrs old.. most are gelded. FREE and papered. Friend of the deceased is trying to find homes 440-463-4288 or 440-463-4288 Barnesville, OH. Please copy and paste this on your status! So if you know anyone who rescues horses, has some farmland, is willing to take on one or more animals, please ring the numbers shone above. |

Subject: RE: BS: 52 horses in Ohio need homes From: GUEST,Guest UK Date: 03 Feb 11 - 07:06 AM Sad, but this is what happens when people take on animals with the best of intentions but make no provision for their future, should something happen to them. Its in my Will that my horses, three of them, will be taken care of by my husband should I die before him. Would love to see his face when my Will is read - he's totally non-horsie !! but he does love them. |

Subject: RE: BS: 52 horses in Ohio need homes From: ragdall Date: 03 Feb 11 - 06:48 PM I'm glad that they all got homes. I'm sure their owner wouldn't have wanted them to be slaughtered. Here's the entry on Snopes.com (where I usually check before forwarding messages that seem too good to be true): http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/horses.asp rags |
Subject: RE: BS: 52 horses in Ohio need homes From: LadyJean Date: 03 Feb 11 - 11:36 PM I got it from a friend of mine, and cheerfully forwarded it to my sister's partner, who wants a horse. Alas she will not be driving up to PA with a horse trailer. On the plus side, my sister will still be speaking to me. |
