Now all we have to do is get it ready - Kendall dictates his stories, I transcribe onto the PC, with copy on flash drive, just in case of PC problems!

I gave a copy of Stories told in the kitchen to my Opa when he was dying many years ago....he loved it. It kept his heart light, during his final months, giving him the laughter that was much needed and hard to come by at the time. I'm not sure if I ever thanked you for writing that book, but here it is: Thank you. I look forward to the new one!

I would have more than one copy..in fact I would email a set of pages, like a chapter or so at a time..to someone for safekeeping...or if I was smarter I would do cloudware or whatever..mg

Keep the writing on a PC that is never connected to the internet. Make two backups and store one at another location. Make hardcopies of all drafts.

There are some people in this life that are just masters at everything. Kendall can perform folk music to a level that for 50 years people still cherish the work. Then he turns around and writes books that make us laugh till our sides hurt ... and he gets all the beautiful girls like Jacqui ... Dang guy ... is there anything he can't do :-)

The publisher's name is Island Port Press, based in Yarmouth Maine.

Island Port Press has an excellent reputation. My mother has been working with them for the last five years, as they reprint her children's books. She finds them very good to work with.

More good news. The publisher of my old book just reverted the rights to me. I now own the whole thing.
And, they sent me another royalty check. Imagine it,still available after 30 years. And, at the same price! ($7.00)

Make sure to reserve the right to buy deeply discounted copies of your own book so you can sell them yourself at any guest appearances. Many commercial publishers will do this, but only if you ask.
