Subject: BS: Bobert's NC Move...Progress & Not So... From: Bobert Date: 02 May 11 - 10:09 PM Thanks for the various PMs and I have tried to answer each of them but my think-erator has become badly gummed up with way too much stuff and am suffering from severe sensory overload... First and foremost, we are half closed and half not-closed on the house in NC... Our lender's computer is also gummed up and refuses to settle on an escrow amount that will be in our monthly payment... At noon last Friday it was like $5000 off, by 2:00 pm it was about $2000 off, by 6:00 pm we were still sitting in the closing attorney's office and it was $2 off so our closing attorney told us that we'd have to wait another day before coming back to Va. and be in his office this morning and hopefully things would be fine... Not!!! As of 10:00 this morning the computer was $27 off... ((((((((((((How did Americans get so stupid???)))))))))))))) So, I had to go to Liberty, NC to pick up some borrowed tires for my 1953 Spartan trailer and had to get home (9 hours) and I told the attorney that we needed to go and that he'd and the lenders computer would have to fight it out and that it was okay with me if he needed to _____________ to make it work... Sorry, can't fill in the blank... Okay, I've done 5 trips in Bobert's Beater Box Truck and have left it in NC... Next Tuesday, the 10th, I will be moving all the furniture in Bobert's rented 26 foot U-Haul truck... The day before, the P-Vine and her sister will drive down with 3-of-4 cats and a couple boxes of Cheerios and we'll all try to make the house look like people could actually live there... Then Sunday, I drive the Bobert and the Bobert's sister-in-law back to this farm in Bobert's Beater Box Truck and her sister goes home and I start trying to get my Spartan trailer and Kabota tractor ready to go on a flat bed tractor trailer, load Bobert's Beater Box Truck with more of Bobert's useless junk and and head South... Best I can figure is that including the U-Haul-um and Bobert's Beater Box tr8uck that 4 more trip and this will be history... Of course, I may be as well, but, hey??? The end... My brain is fried... From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 03 May 11 - 12:27 AM Bobert, sweetie, why don't you locate the guy that used to shoot his guns your place and have him stop by the P-vine's kids's houses and politely suggest to them that they help you and the P-vine with the big move. |

Subject: RE: BS: Bobert's NC Move...Progress & Not So... From: Fortunato Date: 04 May 11 - 07:53 AM Bobert, I don't sign on the Mudcat much, these days, but I caught this thread. I hope you like North Carolina. You seem to be moving a lot of stuff to get there. I hope Peavine is managing well through all this. I'm sending you a PM with my contact info. You can take a break and come see us out here in the mountains. We'll have to find a blues jam near you and I one of these days and I can take my fading blues chops out for a evening with you. I hope you survive all this. PS. I don't know anything about Charlotte, but NC is mighty fine around here. I like the people very well and they seem to be able to tolerate me. They might do you as well. regards, chance |
Subject: RE: BS: Bobert's NC Move...Progress & Not So... From: Bobert Date: 04 May 11 - 09:34 AM Yeah, I woulda loved to have moved to Ashville... I mean, it's a hoppin' town... Wingate??? Charlotte??? Not... But I'll be okay... We do love the house and the property (two creeks) and 1/2 acre pond and lots of hardwoods... BTW, Chance... I have purdy much missed mushroom season here... Subject: RE: BS: Bobert's NC Move...Progress & Not So... From: frogprince Date: 04 May 11 - 02:07 PM "Jist remember, you ain't as young as you was thirty years back...." Got a suspicion that right now Bobert doesn't feel as young as he did about thirty days back. Do try not to put yourself in the hospital before you get done with this. From the pictures I've seen, it doesn't look like you have much extra fat to burn off. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bobert's NC Move...Progress & Not So... From: Bobert Date: 04 May 11 - 07:34 PM Yeah, down to a buck sixty five but, hey, I can hang with the youngin's when it comes to strength... I'll make it... After Tuesday I'll have four good days in NC to rest up before heading back up here for the next round... I think I'm down to four trips total but, hey, if things get packed right, maybe three... The drive wears me out more than anything... Hauling and packing is easy... One for the books, fir sure... Subject: RE: BS: Bobert's NC Move...Progress & Not So... From: Rapparee Date: 06 May 11 - 07:11 PM They're saprophytes -- they grow on dead things. Leaves, grass, hay, manure, compost, decaying wood, dead bodies...and some, like Aspergillus, can grow in your lungs while you're still alive. Granted, Aspergillus strictly speaking is a mold, not a fungi, but definitely related. |
