Subject: Pub in Killarney - Circa 1918 From: John in Brisbane Date: 20 Sep 99 - 12:50 AM A friend is about to visit Ireland and is trying to match a photo of a number of Australian troops seated on a horse drawn dray outside a pub in Killarney about the time of the end of WW!. The full title of the pub is obscured but the title appears to be ---ARK HOTEL. Kerry is probably capable of drinking his way through a few counties, but only has a few days available. If anyone can provide some local knowledge he would be very pleased, as he wants to provide a laminated photo to the current licensee - if it still exists. Regards, John. |
Subject: RE: BS: Pub in Killarney - Circa 1918 From: Martin Ryan Date: 20 Sep 99 - 08:09 AM Killarney is (obviously!) the classic tourist-oriented town. If he brings the photo into the tourist office there, they may well be able to identify it. Incidentally, unless his capacity is monumental, he may have difficulty is drinking his way round Killarney - never mind Kerry! Regards |
