Subject: BS: The passing of 'Someone Else' From: Georgiansilver Date: 29 Jun 11 - 07:34 AM You will all no doubt be saddened to learn this week of the passing of one of our most valued members who we all know as 'Someone Else'. Someone else's passing has created a void that will be extremely difficult to fill.... in fact Someone else has been with us for many years and for every one of those years did far more than a normal person's share of the work. Whenever there was a job to do, a class to teach, or a meeting to attend, one name was on everyone's lips, "Someone Else will do it." Whenever leadership was mentioned, this wonderful person was looked to for inspiration as well as results; "Someone Else can work with that group." It was common knowledge that Someone Else was among the most liberal of all the givers in organisation. Whenever there was a financial need, everyone naturally assumed that Someone Else would make up the difference. Someone Else was a wonderful and resourceful person; sometimes appearing superhuman. Were the truth known, everybody expected too much of Someone Else but now.... Someone Else is gone! We must all be wondering what on earth the future holds. Someone Else was an inspiration to us all and set a wonderful example for us to follow, but who is going to follow it? Who is going to do the things Someone Else did? When we are asked to help this year, we must try to remember that we need to put ourselves out a bit because we can't depend on Someone Else anymore. |

Subject: RE: BS: The passing of 'Someone Else' From: Georgiansilver Date: 29 Jun 11 - 05:04 PM Did not suggest it is not plagiarised Jeri... but some may well not have read it before.. It gave me food for thought... other than plagiarising it!! |
Subject: RE: BS: The passing of 'Someone Else' From: katlaughing Date: 29 Jun 11 - 06:04 PM I enjoyed it, GS, thanks. |
Subject: RE: BS: The passing of 'Someone Else' From: GUEST,livelylass Date: 29 Jun 11 - 07:00 PM "Did not suggest it is not plagiarised" Well, it wasn't plagiarised - it was merely reproduced same as a joke will do the rounds and be communicated between many people, but is never (genuinely) claimed as original comedic material. If you had reproduced it -and- then claimed it as your own work, then that would be plagiarising. |
Subject: RE: BS: The passing of 'Someone Else' From: Mrrzy Date: 29 Jun 11 - 09:44 PM Yes John McKenzie, don't shade your eyes (only remember always to call it please, research)! |

Subject: RE: BS: The passing of 'Someone Else' From: paula t Date: 01 Jul 11 - 06:35 AM Just found the original lines. Just as good, no matter how many times they are repeated. Thanks for your post Georgiansilver. It made me smile after having a good old rant on a previous thread.xx "Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, And Nobody This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done " 'nuff said? xx |

Subject: The sad passing of 'Someone Else'. From: Georgiansilver Date: 02 Jan 17 - 06:20 AM "I know that all of you were saddened to learn this week of the death of one of our most valuable teammates Someone Else. Else's passing created a vacancy that will be difficult to fill. Someone has been with us for many years, and for every one of those years, Someone did far more than the normal person's share of the work. Whenever leadership was mentioned, this wonderful person was looked to for inspiration as well as results. Someone Else can work with that group. Whenever there was a job to do, a workshop to lead, or a meeting to attend, the same name was on everyone's lips. Let Someone Else do it. It was common knowledge that Someone Else was among the largest givers of time and talent in our organization. Someone Else was a wonderful person, sometimes even appearing super-human. And the truth is that everyone expected too much of Someone Else. Now Someone Else is gone. And we are left to wonder what to do now. Someone Else left us all a wonderful example to follow, but who is going to follow it? Who is going to do the things Someone Else did? Remember, we can't depend on Someone Else anymore." Subject: RE: BS: The passing of 'Someone Else' From: Helen Date: 02 Jan 17 - 02:55 PM Thanks Georgiansilver. When I was clearing out my dear departed Dad's house I found a carefully saved copy of the Someone Else obit which had been printed in the newsletter of a community group. He thought it was important to save, so I didn't throw it out. I think of it sometimes when I hear people say things like, "Why doesn't someone do something about .......? It takes all my self control to stop myself from saying, "YOU are someone!" Thanks for the laugh, and the gentle reminder. Helen |

Here they come to save the day Someone else is on the way By night or by day It means that someone else is here to stay Mr. Online never hangs around, when he hears this scary sound, Here I come to save the day! That means that someone else is on the way! Yes sir, when there is a wrong to right, Some one will join the fight! On the sea or on the land, They have the situation well in hand! We know that when there's danger, we'll never dispair; Because we know that there's danger someone is there... On the land on the sea in the air.
