Not had a very good start today though. Unfortunately our usual sunny weather has deserted the Open and it's miserable out there today with worse to come at the weekend. A Japanese golfer was heard to remark "Why don't you hold the competition in the summer?"

He was spectacular--and had a winning personality on top of that--at the US Open near me.   I wasn't there--but sure did read about it.    He's even been virtually anointed by Jack Nicklaus.

Sounds like a great guy--and he himself said expectations are overblown.   He takes it one tournament--and one hole--at a time.
