At the risk of sounding like I am picking on Womenz (I am not) my missus and my daughters must have 1000 feet. I mean I opens the closet and get buried under shoes ...

Now is it fair to say, that no man I know has ever looked at a womenz feet ... I never have cause that ain't what we are wired to looks at

Is it just my house or is it every womenz house ... shoes ... I gots shoes .. loads of shoes .. in the next career path I take, I am opening a shoe store .. yah

My missus will say, look at these ain't they cute ... yeeegads

I like looking at the feet. I like lookin at all the woman bitz, specially the bitz of my one and only.

But I don't like looking at womenz in dem torture shoes with their calves stressed too tight and looking like they could fall into the punch bowl any second. Nope, give me nice pretty, relaxed female feet, bare or in comfy sandals any day.

I do not understand the heels thing at all. I do understand shoes of different colours to go with different outfits, and not wearing the same shoes two days running (or walking for that matter). I have lots of shoes for that purpose, but not as objects of desire. They have to be comfortable to walk in, so I forget about them. And I'm giving up on Nubuck because it's not easy to clean.

My best friend, male, agrees with me that shoes (perhaps especially womens' shoes) should permit running, very fast, if necessary.

i think that high-heeled shoes (appropriately called 'talons' in French!) give a better posture and a sexy walk than flatties. But I have only TWO pairs of shoes, both completely flat. One is for winter, closed-in and tough. The other pair are sandals, and both pairs are real leather. Now I've never in my life owned more than two or three pairs of shoes at any time, always flatties. And my feet are absolutely perfect, no different from the day I was born, no corns, bunions, ingrown nails, callouses, fallen arches. When I (once) had a reflexology session, the lady said she'd never seen such unspoiled feet!

I never could understand the attraction for women for buying loads of pairs of boring old shoes! I hate shoe shops, and I'd hate to have a wardrobe chock-a-block with piles of the things! Perhaps it's because I'm a bit plump and can't actually see my feet, so I don't care a bit what's on them, as long as they're comfy and weatherproof. My friends think I'm eccentric about this, but I honestly don't feel bad about only having two pairs! In fact, I find that the fewer possessions you have, the happier you are. Life can get too cluttered up. I've always 'travelled light'.
My husband says I can't marry you, olddude. Sorry! :)

It's simply the thrill of acquisition, Eliza. I know this because I too collect things...but not shoes.

Each new acquisition of the thing one likes collecting provides brief excitement, interest, enjoyment, and satisfaction....and having many such things provides a certain sense of security...but the fact is that no matter how many of those things you get it will never fill the emotional hole one is attempting to fill by collecting things.

For many women, it's shoes. Or purses. Or china figurines. Or fine cutlery. Or books in some genre. Anything, really...

For men it's more likely to be model airplanes, guns, electric trains (which are damned expensive!), tools, musical instruments, powered machines of one type or another, vehicles, books, diecast miniature automobiles, records and CDs....

As you collect you become more and more aware of the finer points of what you are collecting and more and more concerned with quality. After awhile, only the very best will do. And that means spending a lot more money. The joy of having "the very best" of something in your hands makes it all worthwhile for at least awhile... ;-) Then the thrill wears off and you start looking for the next one.

Some people do this with girlfriends, boyfriends, wives, and husbands, but that's incredibly expensive!!!   So I don't recommend it.

Because one of my feet is not human but atavistic and has a foot bone that thinks it should belong to a thumb, which wasn't noticed till I was about 40 and had to have a bone spur dealt with, growing up, the only place I could buy shoes was Italy. No idea why theirs fit.

And if you have shoes in your hands instead of on your feet why are you buying shoes, you wierdo (BG)!

Actually, doctors reckon that high heels push the body into shapes which are not good for the spine, or the internal organs, or the toes and other footbones, so the idea that they improve posture is questionable - but I know what you mean. They make ankles look slimmer, and the tautness of the leg muscles makes the shape more, well, shapely.

It would seem odd if the human female had evolved to fit a style of footwear that wpuldn't exist for millenia, and the effect on sexual attraction must be small, or we wouldn't be here, having failed to attract men.

Her Indoors accompanied me into a shoe shop to buy some for me, -I needed some that didn't leak,- and she was looking at the super-high-heels that are fashionable for wimmin today. Her comment was that the Office of Safety and Health weren't doing their job! They make me wear boots and a safety harness if I'm 9' up, but let wimmin walk around in those anklebreakers.

Really? Really??? My dear Hunt has so many more shoes than I- and places them strategically for me to trip over. He has three- THREE pairs of old topsiders. He has 3 pairs of crocs. He has I don't know how many ancient decrepit pairs of Birkenstocks. And hiking boots. And "good solid brown leather shoes theydon'tmake'emliketheyusedto". A pair of black very dressy pumps for occasions the likes of which we are not likely ever more to require. And more!

I have no shoes with high heels. I have one pair of "grownup lady shoes". I have a couple pairs of sandals, a few Danskos. But nothing like the collection of the Man of the House!

When I go to Africa, I don't pack ANY shoes or even sandals. I buy one pair of rubber flip-flops from the first vendor I see, bung them on, and wear them the whole time. I give them to someone who looks needy (dozens of those about!) before I fly home, wearing my original shoes for the flight.

I just mowed. I still have on my Canuck made Greb Kodiaks with the sole treads worn off. 30 years old. They still feel great and they don't stink like the Chinese, Korean... etc... crap they sell here these days stink after a few months of wear. I can't buy a Canuck shoe or boot except a steel toed work boot and it get's cold here at times and I don't work construction.

I have boxy toes and very high arches; pointy toed high heels would cripple me. I don't know how some places get away with making them mandatory.

(yes, they make the hips sway on us wimminz with looser ball & socket joints -- and women only interested in pleasing men are welcome to them -- the shoes, I mean)

that said, I didn't think I was a shoe hound until I went to pack them up -- one good sized tub full. In my defense, I have been under some pressure to dress "professional" for some time --
