Subject: RE: BS: Where's DougR From: DougR Date: 21 Sep 11 - 12:44 PM Thank you Mudcat friends! GregF will be delighted to know that I am alive and well! Seriously, though, I am pleased that some of you folks voiced concerns and I really thought I had posted my plans during the summer but guess I failed to. My wife and I left Arizona September 5th and flew to London via British Airways. We stayed in London five days taking some side trips and then joined a couple of other Arizona friends to tour the Lake country for a couple of days. Then we drove to Portsmouth and boarded the ferry for France. Toured the Normandy coast, visited the cemeteries, and walked the beaches where most of the dead were killed. Then we drove down to the wee village, Athis-de-L'Orne, where my grandmother's family lived prior to immigrating to the U.S of A. just to say we had been there. We leave France for Arizona tomorrow. Thanks, Joe Offer, for letting me know of my friend's concerns. Till later, Doug Richards (DougR) |
