Meaningless example. That story's from The Hollywood Reporter. I doubt anyone has ever turned to that organ expecting to find hard-hitting investigative journalism.

I grant you that good journalism is harder to find than it might once have been, for any number of reasons, including dwindling resources, and an element of "the public gets what the public wants". But it's certainly not dead.

Journalism has died and been reborn several times over the last century. As long as there are government and taxpayers, entertainers and the entertained, criminals and victims, and good old-fashioned gossip and nosiness, journalism will thrive in one form or another.

THAT's journalism!??

No, there is great sickness in the field of journalism, but there are a number of very healthy journalists running around out there. You just need to keep your brain in gear, exercise healty skepticism, and cross-check a lot.

Sad commentary on the state of the U.S. but its nothing new.

Go back 100 years or so and read about Pulitzer and Hearst and their "yellow journalism". Even more nauseating than the current promotion of worthless Pop Culture.

That style of journalism will only come to an end when people stop reading it. How did you find it?

Wesley. I view an intrawebs-net.com humor site called eatliver.com.
I didn't catch the beast on the hoof.

A. I never heard of these people.
B. I never will meet these people.
C. I really don't care much about people I don't know.
D. I really don't care much about people I'll never meet.

QED: I don't give a rat's ass about them and know no reason why I should.
