Subject: BS: Do you 'still have it'? From: Ed T Date: 23 Feb 12 - 07:30 PM She has still got it, and at 71! And, it was 50 years ago, though it is still fresh in voyeuristic years, anyway. What about you? Do you still turn heads at the beach as you stroll by in the Speedo you wore as a youth, or in the bikini you had as a teen? Raquel Welch is as beautiful today as when she emerged from the sea in 'mankind's first bikini' almost 50 years ago Major human milestone-Almost 50 years ago |
Subject: RE: BS: Do you 'still have it'? From: GUEST,olddude Date: 23 Feb 12 - 07:40 PM Yes she does, but alas me ... I lost it and can't find where I put it |

From: GUEST,999 Date: 23 Feb 12 - 07:52 PM "Do you still turn heads at the beach as you stroll by in the Speedo you wore as a youth, or in the bikini you had as a teen?" I do when I wear the two-piece bikini, Ed. (BTW, there WERE no Speedos when I was a kid.) |
Subject: RE: BS: Do you 'still have it'? From: Ed T Date: 23 Feb 12 - 07:54 PM ""there WERE no Speedos when I was a kid"" So, it was bare pole? |
Subject: RE: BS: Do you 'still have it'? From: GUEST,999 Date: 23 Feb 12 - 07:56 PM The water was cold. It may have been bare, but pole? |

Skinny ol' white guys with pony tails down their backs ain't in short supply... BTW, yeah, Raquel is hot... B~ |
Subject: RE: BS: Do you 'still have it'? From: Rapparee Date: 23 Feb 12 - 09:01 PM I still turn heads when I walk down the street or at the beach or anywhere. I don't understand the stifled giggling, though. Or why the cops take such an interest. |

Subject: RE: BS: Do you 'still have it'? From: Rapparee Date: 23 Feb 12 - 10:21 PM gnu, you need a torque wrench to make it work. Or a chain wrench. Either one. |

Subject: RE: BS: Do you 'still have it'? From: Don Firth Date: 23 Feb 12 - 10:57 PM If strong men turn pale, women faint, and children scream and run when I walk down the beach, does that count? How about if they just point and laugh? Don Firth |
Subject: RE: BS: Do you 'still have it'? From: Janie Date: 23 Feb 12 - 10:59 PM Dan, you may have just been saved by a senior moment! She is still lovely, but artificially so, imo. I'm guessing more than a few facelifts and the hair does not suit. If find myself thinking how much more lovely she might look if she looked a youthful 70 due to natural aging and taking care of herself rather than looking like a 50 something just slightly "off" somehow. |
Subject: RE: BS: Do you 'still have it'? From: JennieG Date: 24 Feb 12 - 12:51 AM Spot on, Janie.....the current Raquel looks just a wee bit artificial, doesn't she? Almost as though she has been embalmed. And I bet that tight corset isn't comfortable either. And before you blokes say it, I'm not just being a catty female.....she was indeed gorgeous as a young woman but now looks like someone who is desperately trying to cling on to the past. We all have to get older eventually, and no amount of surgery and elastic will halt that. Cheers JennieG |

Subject: RE: BS: Do you 'still have it'? From: Becca72 Date: 24 Feb 12 - 08:59 AM I don't think I ever had "it", frankly. I'd turn heads if I walked down the beach in a two piece...but for all the wrong reasons! As for Ms Welch - nowadays she'd melt if she sat too close to the fireplace... |
Subject: RE: BS: Do you 'still have it'? From: Rapparee Date: 24 Feb 12 - 09:55 AM I think have as much of it as I once did, but then I never had as much of it as once I thought I did. |

Subject: RE: BS: Do you 'still have it'? From: ClaireBear Date: 24 Feb 12 - 12:02 PM I am trying to get just a little of it back, and men are starting to smile at me in cafes and grocery stores now, which hadn't happened in about 20 years. Is that "it"? Not sure...but it's a nice change from feeling "past it." |

Subject: RE: BS: Do you 'still have it'? From: kendall Date: 24 Feb 12 - 02:10 PM Apparently I still have it. I was walking down the street the other day and I met two young women. As they passed, one said, "Get him." |
Subject: RE: BS: Do you 'still have it'? From: GUEST,Eliza Date: 24 Feb 12 - 02:27 PM I've always been fascinated by people who are extremely attractive (male or female) and yet aren't traditionally beautiful or sexy. They just have that extra something which warms you. (On the other hand, we had an 'Adonis' colleague, a young male teacher who could have been a model, but he was boring, arrogant and ghastly!) Often when young, I've desperately fancied a man who could have been described as fairly ugly, but who just melted my heart. It's obviously not about looks, but personality and character, cute ways and winsomeness! (Therefore age doesn't come into it at all. Hurrah!) |
Subject: RE: BS: Do you 'still have it'? From: gnu Date: 24 Feb 12 - 02:35 PM Eliza... definitely. For me, it's always been the smile and the twinkle in the eyes. Gotta have both on accounta a smile without that twinkle is just a fake smile. "Beautiful" and "built" and such don't turn me on. After the smile, it's intelligence, warmth, compassion, elan and so on. Of course, as I age, it becomes moreso every day. |

Subject: RE: BS: Do you 'still have it'? From: GUEST,Dani Date: 24 Feb 12 - 09:10 PM Oh, Eliza's got it alright. And, the point. "It" is indefinable... and real. I'm willing to bet there's more of 'it' here than in the general population. Then again, I have good 'it' radar ; ) Dani |
Subject: RE: BS: Do you 'still have it'? From: GUEST,Eliza Date: 25 Feb 12 - 03:51 AM I've been thinking about this during the night, and remembering folk who attracted me a lot. They fell into two groups, I reckon. 1) Those who had a great kindness for others in them 2) Those who had an interesting personality, eg intelligent, wise, quirky or very funny or with fascinating hobbies etc. Not one from among all the people I have known over many decades was 'handsome' or 'beautiful' in the media sense. I don't feel that anyone old, arthritic, bald, fat, wrinkled or anything else is any less attractive, why should they be? They can be deliciously lovable, and one can long to be with them because they make one feel good! |
