Shambles. It was a flippin' dumbass burger place on Hiway 11 northa Barrie. The hole flippin' place was painted orange, eh? And it was called "Shambles". I allways figgered that was probally a good deescripshion of the place inside, know what I mean? It musta been a deeskripshion of the flippin' owner's business smarts too, eh? Cos it has closed down. It IS a flippin' shambles in there now.

There used to be a convenience store near here that was closed for over a year for refurbishment (I think they ran out of money for a while).

A sign outside it proudly proclaimed "Opening Shortly", so when the shop eventually did re-open, everyone called it "Opening Shortly's"...

There's been quite a spate, in the UK, of giving pubs a makeover and then changing the name to something stupid and 'contemporary'. So, the Royal Oak (for example) gets a refurb and they call it "The Slug & Lettuce" or "The Pineapple & Pitcher) or some other dumbass name.

Just waiting for one to be called "The Condom and Crap" - because that's what they're often like inside.

Bernard, there is a pub in Beverley that has been renamed.
The sign over it now matched what was etched into its glass door.
The locals always called it The Push - now it's official.
