Ebbie, I spent 28 years of my life in and around Amish communities: Geauga County, Ohio and Elkhart County, Indiana. I've noticed that they are voting more and more, especially on local issues and in local elections. As you know, so much depends on the bishops and the local community and...well, so much depends.

But if you WANT to vote you should be able to do without have an ID with a photo -- and the Amish don't as a rule like photos. (I suspect that a good number of the Amish have been citizens longer that the ancestors of most members of Congress.)

No, no, no..jeez..this is just another Machiavellian problem that they're trying to whip up, to offer one of their stupid, freedom snatching, corporate police state plans...but it's NOT about votes, and it's NOT about ID theft, and it's NOT about citizenship, NOT about Health care, NOT about tax dodgers, NOT about currency, exactly.....guess again.
Use your heads!...They want to 'institute' something, and it's NOT good...but we got all these problems that can be remedied by...??...come on...what do you think would solve all this, but would be met with huge resistance???

I still have my Texas Poll Tax receipt.

There are new and better ways of limiting the vote to the right people, and difficult to attack some of them in court.

The U.S. is divided. Maps of election results show rural and small town votes go to "conservatives," city votes show a liberal trend.
Regression rather than progress is the result.
Each division would like to gerrymander the other into impotence. Result- Chaos.
