Yes, John. I managed to catch an extended version of the match highlights on a French (Canuck French) TV channel and Andy just out-strategized* Federer. The home crowd really got their money's worth.

* Sounds better than outsmarted.

Apart from Andy's new found determination and strategic abilities, what impressed me most was the moment at the end when they came together across the net.

Roger Federer showed such class and sportsmanship with a huge, beaming and genuinely delighted ssmile, as they shook hands.

That's the way to handle losing, just as Andy did at Wimbledon four weeks earlier.

An example, perhaps, to some others who have forgotten what sport is supposed to be.

Good to see an underdog, dark horse, or whatever term appeals here rewarded for their effort and also wonderful that good character is on display in sport. How one wins and how one loses speaks eloquently. Both men have shown a lot of class.

Angus: Aye, but I must go though dear, I dinna want to seem ungrateful.

Mary: Och, no you'll not...
Angus: Oh, Mary... (suddenly we hear a strange creaking and a slurping noise; a look of horror comes into his eyes) Oh, oh, Mary! Look out! Look out!
