Barrack Hussein Obama to Matt Lauer February 1, 2009:

"Look, I'm at the start of my administration. One nice thing about the situation I find myself in is that I will be held accountable. You know, I've got four years.

A year from now I think people are going to see that we're starting to make some progress. But there's still going to be some pain out there. If I don't have this done in three years, then there's going to be a one-term proposition."

My bad, one R

"Not too sure that would work with Hillary, Amos... She might bring Bill in and the two of them would have poor Barrack on the floor punchin' him out...

That both have hot tempers...

But it ain't as much as askin' for resignations as what might happen if Bill was ent off to like India and Pakistan to negotiate the conflict over Kashmir... I mean, Obama ain''t gonna be there persoanlly so he's gonna have to trust Hill 'n Bill and what if they let the situation blow up???

Of course, they could come back with "Blah, blah, blah" and Obama would probably by their boguis story seein' as he wasn't there and formulate policy around mythology... Hey, I'm not saying this will happen... I am, howver, saying that if the Clintons wanted to roll Obama under the bus, they will have a perfect opportunity...

B~ "

Mental Block????

I don't have anything to say about the topic. My observation is akin to Bobad's... you need help with your obsessive stalking of Bobert.

Look, it isn't that I hold you in low esteem because you are not as well educated, as well read or as well mannered as Bobert, it's because you twist words, twist thoughts, imply shit you can't prove about topics and people... I could go on.

You shouldn't feel poorly because you may have made so many unwarranted transgressions against others.Maybe you should try to mend your ways and, if you do, I am sure those yomay have harmed will forgive you. Maybe you should seek help in doing so. I assume Bobert has worked with people with possible similar mental health issues. Perhaps youse could get together and he could help you not be such a fuckin asshole, if indeed you ever were. Worth a shot, I think.

Good luck with it. It appears you may need it.

Yeah, I have a comment on the topic. At the time he said that, NO ONE except a few Repubs in a closed room knew that the strategy was gonna be: "Block everything we can that Obama tries to pass, then complain that he has 'failed'."
It took some clever maneuvering and pressure to get the stimulus and health care in the 1st two years, then no "super majority" in the Senate and loss of the House...and almost nothing since....not even legislation the Repubs had said they wanted! This has been the greatest 'do nothing' Congress in 200 years (look it up). Money legislation (taxes...etc.) has to start in the House. You know what "fat chance" means?

My Daddy told how HIS father used to get his 3 boys out of the house for while: "He'd throw 9 pennies out in the yard, and tell us: "Don't come in till you find all 10"!"
My grandfather could have been a consultant for the GOP!

(CBS News) CHARLOTTE, N.C. - In North Carolina, the Obama campaign should be on alert for "switchers," particularly white men who cast their ballot for the president four years ago but have resolved not do to so again.

Computer system installer Larry Phillips is among those Tarheel State voters who bought into Obama's message of hope and change, but now has buyer's remorse.

"I guess what he promised -- we never got those promises," Phillips said.

The 34-year-old registered Republican had voted for a Democrat before - Bill Clinton - but he is frustrated by how the federal debt and gridlock have grown during Obama's time in office.

"I think a leader should be able to come in -- it doesn't matter what party you're on -- you should be able to compromise with the other side and to get something accomplished," Phillips said.

Explaining his switch to Mitt Romney, Phillips said: "We need somebody with a business background, somebody that knows that if you've got a million dollars to work with, you can't spend two million, because that falls back on the American citizens to pay for that."

The Democratic Party hopes staging its national convention in Charlotte has a ripple effect through North Carolina enabling President Obama to win the state again in November.

His 2008 victory in the traditionally Republican state came by the slimmest of margins: 14,000 votes out of 4.3 million cast, or just three-tenths of one percent, .03%.

While there was a record turnout of black voters, and 96 percent of them voted for Obama, his performance among white men was also key.

In North Carolina, in 2004, Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry won only one in four white male votes. Four years later, Obama improved to one in three white male votes.

He became the first Democrat to carry North Carolina since Jimmy Carter in 1976.

Investment advisor Sam McNeil, who worked 30 years for a major bank in Charlotte, sees Obama's performance differently.

"Our unemployment rate is still above eight percent, and we're still running trillion dollar deficits. It's hard to understand how the economy is getting better," McNeil said.

McNeil, a registered Republican who voted for Bill Clinton's reelection, says Obama's new rules for the financial industry are stifling economic growth.

"I know a large bank that operates in the Carolinas that tells me when they approve a real estate loan, within two or three weeks after they approve it, they have federal regulators that they have to sit down with and go through every aspect of the loan," McNeil said. "They have put too many restrictions in place for banks to lend to companies, and it's been very difficult for small businesses to get money to expand their businesses and hire people."

Josh Brown, 22, from Greensboro, N.C., was hired as a bank analyst in Charlotte right after graduating from UNC-Charlotte. Brown is among the five percent of "undecided" voters in North Carolina, but as a first time voter in 2008, he was among the legions of first-time voters to go with Obama.

"I believed that he had the better economic plan at the time, in that government spending could help prop up the economy, and during the first two years of his presidency, it seemed as that was working, and now we've sort of stalled out and stagnated," Brown said.

"I've proposed a specific $4 trillion deficit reduction plan. ... The way we do it is $2.50 for every cut, we ask for $1 in additional revenue."

THE FACTS: In promising $4 trillion, Obama is already banking more than $2 trillion from legislation enacted along with Republicans last year that cut agency operating budgets and capped them for 10 years. He also claims more than $800 billion in war savings that would occur anyway. And he uses creative bookkeeping to hide spending on Medicare reimbursements to doctors. Take those "cuts" away and Obama's $2.50/$1 ratio of spending cuts to tax increases shifts significantly more in the direction of tax increases.

Obama's February budget offered proposals that would cut deficits over the coming decade by $2 trillion instead of $4 trillion. Of that deficit reduction, tax increases accounted for $1.6 trillion. He promises relatively small spending cuts of $597 billion from big federal benefit programs like Medicare and Medicaid. He also proposed higher spending on infrastructure projects.

"Over the last two years, health care premiums have gone up — it's true — but they've gone up slower than any time in the last 50 years. So we're already beginning to see progress. In the meantime, folks out there with insurance, you're already getting a rebate."

THE FACTS: Not so, concerning premiums. Obama is mixing overall health care spending, which has been growing at historically low levels, and health insurance premiums, which have continued to rise faster than wages and overall economic growth. Premiums for job-based family coverage have risen by nearly $2,400 since 2009 when Obama took office, according to the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundation. In 2011, premiums jumped by 9 percent. This year's 4 percent increase was more manageable, but the price tag for family coverage stands at $15,745, with employees paying more than $4,300 of that.

When it comes to insurance rebates under Obama's health care law, less than 10 percent of people with private health insurance are benefiting.

More than 160 million Americans under 65 have private insurance through their jobs and by buying their own policies. According to the administration, about 13 million people will benefit from rebates. And nearly two-thirds of that number will only be entitled to a share of it, since they are covered under job-based plans where their employer pays most of the premium and will get most of the rebate.

Obama was naively hopeful that the Republican Congress would work with him instead of moving the goalposts every time he came up with a possible solution. He even proposed some things that they had earlier agreed to, but changed their minds so he would not "get credit" for it. There is no bipartisanship or statesmanship in that behavior. Furthermore, they would not even approve in real life of some of their earlier "heroes" like Reagan, Eisenhower, or even Nixon, and nevermind Teddy Roosevelt. Those people were far more "liberal" than the current bunch. But you probably knew that but choose to ignore it.
