Subject: RE: BS: Favourite Christmas drink From: bobad Date: 11 Dec 12 - 06:51 PM Christmas is the one time of the year I indulge myself with a nice bottle of tawny port and a hunk of fine Stilton cheese. I am also usually blessed with a gift of single malt which I am not averse to indulging in. |

Subject: RE: BS: Favourite Christmas drink From: Charmion Date: 11 Dec 12 - 06:29 PM That said, we should also consider mulled wine, especially the Scandinavian kind with a shot of akavit in it as well as spices and orange rind. A Whisky Mac is one of the few drinks I will make for myself when I'm on my own, but mulled wine requires company. It's best made in large quantities. |
Subject: RE: BS: Favourite Christmas drink From: Charmion Date: 11 Dec 12 - 06:25 PM Mmmmmmm. Good question. I enjoy a drink called a Whisky Mac, which consists of equal parts decent blended Scotch and Stone's Ginger Wine. (Don't under any circumstances attempt the ginger wine on its own.) Serve it on the rocks in a short tumbler. It's strong, mind; no driving after even one! |

Subject: BS: Favourite Christmas drink From: Ed T Date: 11 Dec 12 - 04:13 PM What's your favourite Christmas drink, avec alcohol or not. So far, this year, mine has been Egg Nog with Captain Morgan's Black Spiced Rum (this rum product was released last spring). Last year, my favourite was a very hot and spicy Bloody Ceasar, with Tequila. |
