John, I wish it was! I never get enough pressies, but I have 3 to open when I wake up, & one to finish before I get to bed. It's for the friend who I'm sharing Christmas with - she will arrive in 12 hours, & I've only got about 20 mins of work left.

Today our weather was hot & humid (it's still very humid) but the temperature is lower - around 20C & will only rise about 5 degrees in the day. We'll drive around looking for a park with a shady tree to place our picnic table under, tho I assume most good spots will be taken long before we arrive.

Here in northern New South Wales we woke up to rain, our Christmas Day will be hot and wet - the gardens will be happy! Our two new plants (only put in on Sunday) are smiling. In a few hours Himself and I are heading out to a local restaurant for lunch as we are childless today.....younger son is in Toronto, Canada (on the far side of the known universe from here) but at least older son who thankfully still lives in Australia, will be arriving on Thursday for a few days.

Happy Thingmas and Seasonal Greetings to all, whatever you celebrate.

Cheers, and many more of them,
JennieG

A Merry Christmas to all of you. I am going to take the liberty of putting up this disgraceful little ditty to see how long I can get away with it!

Oh Sod It Here Comes Christmas!

I actually really like Christmas, which for me is about hearing from old friends and being in touch with my family. Hope you all have a great time doing whatever it is that you like best!

A Merry Yule and a health to all pagans... well... everyone else as well!

An hour or so of peace until son and family arrive - then chaos, laughter and good fun.

My very best to all. :-)

Happy Christmas to all. I hope that your day will be filled with love and peace.

My grandson got me up at 7 to make tea for his Mum and Dad and then to open stocking presents in their bedroom.

We've just finished opening the presents under the tree and have a very excited 12 year old who got an electric guitar - better then his previous one - which, right now, is in the process of being set up and tuned.

I'll 'phone home' later and talk to the Old Grump before he goes to spend time with his daughters and then I'll phone when he's there and talk to the rest of the family. We'll have a little Christmas when I get home at the end of the week.

Tomorrow I head South for a couple of days with my son and his family before flying home (new broomstick ready and waiting!).

The dogs let me have a sleep in this morning 7.45am would you believe .
That was a special Xmas present. I have just emerged from a wonderfully relaxing hot bath and will soon start on dinner preparations - stuffing the chicken, peeling veg etc. so that I can walk the dogs before my son comes round for his dinner. Then I'll chill out for the rest of the day.

Merry Xmas to one and all - Particularly Max, Joe and the Mud-elves

Hi

Merry Christmas from here in leafy Cheshire England. The morning is mild and the rain rain has gone and the sun is coming out.

Up early this morning to answer the phone calls from our several grandchildren and two great grandchildren thanking us for the presents we.......sorry Father Christmas brought them.

Having a family Christmas lunch at a local hostelry.

Hope everyone enjoys a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous New Year.

MikeL2

Merry Christmas everyone from Norfolk UK. Went to church and sang my head off. Turkey is beginning to smell very nice. Husband is playing with his new technology (a Kindle thing, no idea what it is, but it was what he wanted!) Cats smiling, sun coming out. Happiness to all. Eliza x

Woke up to a slight (very slight) dusting of white outside.

Inside, there's the lighted tree, freshly grated Gruyere and the smell of quiche in the oven...and I've been awake and in the smallest room in the house every hour on the hour since 2:30 a.m....

Happy Christmas, everyone!

Hi all:

I wanted to send some sort of holiday greeting to my friends. However, it is difficult in today's world to know exactly what to say without offending someone.

So I met with my lawyer yesterday, and on his advice I wish to say the following:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non addictive, gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday practised with the most enjoyable traditions of religious persuasion or secular practices of your choice with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practise religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2013, but not without due respect for the calendar of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make our country great and without regard to the race, creed, colour, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

* By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms:

This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal.
It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting.

It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/him or others and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher.

The wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.

Best Regards, without prejudice,

Name withheld (Privacy Act)

After all that moaning over the last month about piped music what did we do? We sat through the whole lot all over again debating our favourite and least favourite! What are we like! I think that itself is becoming as much a tradition as anything else. Hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas Day.

Not many Mudcatters left to celebrate Christmas. It ended here in California 20 minutes ago, and will end in Alaska in 40 minutes. Don't think we have any Mudcatters in Hawaii who are currently active. Is Guam in tomorrow, or is it in yesterday?
Merry Christmas, everyone!

I might as well just jump in with Happy New Year! I've been away for almost a week with only my phone, and while I've browsed through threads there, I haven't been posting much!
