Change of life today which will resonate with those of us who are car buffs here.

Sold my '68 GTO after about 20 years of ownership.

Came the time when I could not keep up with the upkeep and it was breaking my heart to watch it rust.

Did not get quite all I wanted but the guy said he would give it a good home. That convinced me to take the offer.

Time marches on

Mark

"Goodbye to an old friend" >>> "Goodbye to an old friend. My Car"

No?

A Pontiac GTO? Pity it wasn't a '62-'64 Ferrari GTO! (The difference is about $5m...).

Still, car buffs will understand.

I learned to drive in a 1964 Tempest station wagon. Not quite as "hot" as the GTO, but still a beautiful car.

I learned to drive in a 1931 Nash, back when it was brand new. Sure wish it was still around. Or was it a Ford Model A? Dang, but my mind's playin' tricks agin.

You should have put it in Hemmings Motor News if you wanted top dollar... "Goats" with matching numbers bring good money...

No matter... I hope you got visitation rights...

B~

I learned to drive in Kendall's 1979(?) Dodge Diplomat (read: land yacht). Because of that, I can parallel park anything.

My first car was an AC tourer, 1938 model, a candidate for the most beautiful vehicle ever made. I sold it long ago for the same reason as Mike, and I wish that I still had it.

You can't use a hobby car as a first vehicle, though. Unless you have lots of them, and lots of cash too.
