A short-notice Pop-Up festival for all those who haven't yet arranged Bank Holiday fun in August ....

A day's folk-type music put together at very short notice by Mac in association with the Bishop's Stortford British Legion. The opportunity presented itself and he's leapt at the challenge, and so have some of the best of the performers we've seen at the club.

For those who don't know the place, it's a fantastic venue – a Georgian town house with a large walled garden, perfect for a full summer's days' worth of music and blessed with a fully stocked club bar and a steward who knows how to keep decent beer.

30/08/2013 - 11am to 11pm
The British Legion Walled Garden Windhill, Bishop's Stortford CM23 2NG

Real Ales at club prices
Ticket price to be confirmed - in the region of £10 - £15
- we are 10-15 mins walk from Bishops Stortford Station; frequent direct trains to Liverpool St. & Cambridge
- there is plenty of on - and off-street parking nearby.

I wish you all the best, with this venture, I note that most of the artists are fairly local to that area.
I have appeared many times at this club as a paid guest[ ABOUT 20 TIMES] but I will not be there, living in Ireland makes it uneconomical to be there unless I was paid my air fare and a fee.
I hope the event is a success

Its definitely on Sunday 25th - I have it from the horse's mouth as of yesterday.

Club site's also been updated I note. First mail I saw had Louis Jordan headlining (would have been something of a coup as he died in 1975 or thereabouts).... looks like a pretty good line-up. Wonder if there's session space?

Further & Better Particulars now available following meet with RBL tonight - so I'm going to start a new thread with the CORRECT date on it - great event - cheap tickets (£10 in advance) - great venue, sypathetic sound engineer, reasonably priced ale ... it just keeps getting better :)

All sounds very enticing. People who just read the music threads (which I see as a foolish restriction thy impose on themselves, but that's not immediately relevant) ought to get a chance to see this thread. Or a thread like it, but with the right date in the heading.

Stortfolk is a great club - I dropped out of going a couple of years back when I retrenched on the active music scene, after I tdropped dead temporarily, but I hope I can make it along for this.
