Has anyone else noticed that the new Firefox logo on the Mozilla Firefox start page seems to be a Fox with an ignited fart? Or is it just me?

A lit FoxFart doesn't make sense to me. Foxes gave those great big fluffy tails. Why would a fox light a fart when he might burn his tail off? Maybe you're thinking he'd been hitting the fermented grapes and started making bad decisions, but it doesn't seem likely to me.

Damn! I thought it was only me until Deb chipped in. Ah well, there goes the delusion of being unique.

If you haven't seen it, Jeri, I think it is supposed to be a tail of fire. But the the ones amongst us with twisted imaginations may see it somewhat differently :-)

When the Romans celebrated the Cerialia a part of the event included lighting torches attached to fox tails, not the nicest of their rituals. Wikipedia details here.

I can imagine some of the animals may well have chased their own tails, just like cats sometimes will.

I have no idea whether the authors of Firefox had this in mind, I expect it is a coincidence.
