Subject: RE: Obit: David Frost (Apr 1939 - Aug 2013) From: Big Al Whittle Date: 01 Sep 13 - 04:57 PM Apparently him and Julie had it going on. I wonder if it was her who persuaded him to produce the film Leadbelly - which i thought was a pretty good biopic. |
Subject: RE: Obit: David Frost (Apr 1939 - Aug 2013) From: catspaw49 Date: 01 Sep 13 - 05:49 PM Watched the Nixon interviews and felt the last one may have been Frost's "finest hour." I enjoyed almost everything he did but it was mainly good entertainment and humorous. The Nixon thing was different and not all that great except for the last one which was unforgettable. RIP Spaw |
Subject: RE: Obit: David Frost (Apr 1939 - Aug 2013) From: akenaton Date: 02 Sep 13 - 08:59 AM Yes, from a cutting edge satirist, admittedly amongst a gang of highly talented, actors, comedians and singers,(That was the Week that Was), to an establishment lackey and apologist. I suppose its something that happens to us all. Does anyone remember John Freeman? |

Subject: RE: Obit: David Frost (Apr 1939 - Aug 2013) From: GUEST Date: 03 Sep 13 - 10:07 AM I thought Millicent Marten was the resident singer, not Julie Felix? |
Subject: RE: Obit: David Frost (Apr 1939 - Aug 2013) From: MGM·Lion Date: 03 Sep 13 - 10:35 AM Millicent Martin was resident singer in TW3 (That Was The Week That Was), the programme on which DF originally made his name. Julie Felix, with whom he was then said to constitute an item, appeared weekly on a later programme of his ~~ The Frost Report, I think; along with the Two Ronnies, Barker & Corbett, and John Cleese, who did the celebrated 'Three Classes" sketch. ~M~ |
