Agreed. And you will still find "conservatives" saying "We're all in this together" when they mean "Steal from the poor to give to the rich".

Fully agree regarding credibility but that is linked to competence. To be quite honest, I think any outcome for any section of society is luck rather than judgement. The idea that every plan to help the rich works but every plan to help the poor fails just doesn't work in my opinion.

Out of interest, you have to be in the top 0.5% of income to be doing better by this government. Not sure that is pandering to the 30% of voters they would rely on?

We aren't in this together. Even some of us dirty rotten stinking capitalists are worse off. If you think the government is working to a one sided economic plan think again. Most of the senior civil servants in the treasury are too young to remember Th*tcher and too young to care about Col Blimp for that matter.

Mainstream economics is as dull as micro economics but far more risky.

I'm just coming down from the ceiling after watching that smug bastard from the Electricity Company explaining why the exorbitant profits were OK because "they are only a fraction of those made by Vodafone".
This, and other countries are in the middle of a crisis caused by greedy bankers and incompetent and corrupt politicians
I attended Limerick A&E a couple of weeks ago where I was informed by a waiting room screen that the likely waiting time was 7 hours.
Every day we are presented with new charges to make up for their greed, corruption and incompetence.
We are daily presented with filmed parliamentary debates attended a tiny handful of our elected 'representatives' all doughnutted around the camera in order to pretend that there are more of them in attendance than there actually are, all all busy telling us how we've all got to 'bite the bullet to get the country out of the mess' it's been dropped into.....
They know exactly what they are doing and are happy to rub our noses in the fact that we can't do a damn thing about it.
Would that we all had access to such lunacy.
Despite reservations, I strongly suspect that Mary Lou will get my vote next time - she at least puts an appearance and seems to have more balls than the rest of them combined.

In the Keiser Report on RT tv last night, "Max interviews journalist and anti-bondholder bailout activist, Diarmuid O'Flynn, about taking a stance against bailing out unsecured bondholders in Ireland." Not very complimentary towards Enda Kenny (in fact, Keiser called him a liar)!

I `ad that Kensington F.Warrell in my cab the other Day. `e was over from the University of N.Y. doing a post grad course on British social `istory. `e was specially interested in the development of our `ealth and welfare process.
`e said, "Tell me ,Jim. Did all you kids learn about `ospitals and doctoring in your `istory lessons at school?"
I said, "Blimey, yeah. It was part of the National Curriculum them. Did you know once upon a time people paid to look at mental asylum patients as a form of entertainment?"
