Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: GUEST,jts Date: 19 Nov 13 - 10:42 AM I would be very happy for both teams if that meeting takes place. Sorry for the errors in the OP, post game exuberance. GO PANTHERS!! |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: Rapparee Date: 19 Nov 13 - 10:45 AM Spaw has fans? If they keep him cool why are you apologizing to them? And being inanimate objects (I assume he has no living fans) why should they care? |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: GUEST,gillymor Date: 19 Nov 13 - 11:15 AM Not trying to stir up a hornet's nest but picking up that flag on the final play was a travesty. That was clearly defensive holding or illegal contact. Pats should have gotten another shot at it. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: GUEST,olddude Date: 19 Nov 13 - 11:17 AM Ref's don't know what they are doing. The flag was right but then pick it up ... yikes drove me nuts |

We heard no commentary but we all knew why the flag was thrown. We all knew why it was picked up. Holding is called early in a play. PI is called late, at or about the time the ball is thrown. If Luke had been rushing Brady and no where near that play Gronk still would have had no chance at catching that ball. That said I would love too see Tom Brady hoisting another Lombardi trophy while he can still play at a high level. The only thing I would rather see is Luke Kuechly hoisting a Lombardi trophy. How about Steve Smith!! |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: Elmore Date: 19 Nov 13 - 12:17 PM Moved to the middle of Nowhere, Ga. last winter, after spending 70 years in Massachusetts and NH. I only get about half the Pats' games here. This one broke my heart. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: GUEST,jts Date: 19 Nov 13 - 12:33 PM They will win the division and they are getting healthier. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: Elmore Date: 19 Nov 13 - 12:41 PM Yes, but Wilfork and Mayo won't be back. I'd feel better if they beat Denver Sunday night. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: GUEST,olddude Date: 19 Nov 13 - 01:19 PM don't think anyone will beat Denver in the playoffs this year |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: gnu Date: 19 Nov 13 - 01:42 PM Jack's right. Uncatchable ball is the right call. Brady threw a number of them. A couple at Dobson but those don't count half of the time. >;-) Now... I have a question. When did they get rid of the penalties offensive holding, illegal block in the back and, most importantly, wrestling a defensive lineman to the ground so Cam can scramble? Overall, though, I found the officiating on the field reasonable. I can throw all the flags I want in my living room because I have at least 20 cameras trained on the game. I even have a guy who watches em all and decides which view I should watch, in slo-mo, so I can see what refs on the field can't see. Lastly, PLEASE trade Talib, BB. If anyone will take him. He is not a Pat if he plays like that. I was incensed by his dirty play and I am now even more a fan of Smith after watching a superb performance. I loved the Jefferson Strut!!! and I loved watching him do it in front of Talib. It is a teeny weeny bit arguable that he coulda got a penalty for taunting but Talib coulda got ejected. Wait. Shoulda got ejected... and fined. Did ya see the "interview" with Smith after the game? Priceless! I imagine you can find it on nfl.com. Dan... ya think Big Ben will get traded? GO PATS! |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: gnu Date: 19 Nov 13 - 02:24 PM Dan... re Broncos... gotta keep Payton healthy first. Elmore... Mayo, bad. Wilfork, worse. Ya lose a Wilfork, ya lose a LOT. Jack's comment about The Lombardi made me think of Marino and Kelly. Especially Kelly. I thought a lot of him. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: GUEST,jts Date: 19 Nov 13 - 08:34 PM There are a half dozen teams that CAN beat the Broncos, including the two that played last night and the team the Broncs just beat. I'm not saying they will but Peyton is not a shoe-in, especially in bad weather and especially against Tom Brady. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: Bobert Date: 19 Nov 13 - 08:45 PM I live 35 miles south of Charlotte but still can't warm up to the team... I've tried (kinda)... Maybe if my Redskins were doing better it would be easier but I donno??? The call??? Bad reffing... At best it should have been defensive holding (in the end zone) which still would have given the Pats 1st and goal from the 1... Bad reffin'... B~ |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: gnu Date: 19 Nov 13 - 08:54 PM Gotta give Manning his due. Man's not healthy at the moment. Bad weather? Grogan. Now... that's goin back a few years. Hey... best QB of all time, barring any QB now on the field? Tarkenton? Bradshaw? Starr? Montana? Yeah. I KNOW it's a silly question. Sue me. What about receivers? Biletnikoff? Biletnikoff? Biletnikoff? Oh, yeah, there was a guy named Rice and there was were some others... Biletnikoff comes to mind. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: Pete Jennings Date: 20 Nov 13 - 07:01 AM Blimey, I'll stick to cricket. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: gnu Date: 20 Nov 13 - 08:46 AM We don't get cricket here. Too bad. Then again, I wouldn't have the time to watch it. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: Pete Jennings Date: 20 Nov 13 - 11:10 AM It's broadcast on Sky here, so I only get to watch the highlights. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: GUEST,olddude Date: 20 Nov 13 - 02:34 PM Well Gnu I got 4 ticks if Denver goes to the big dance so I gotta hope. PS don't tell my MRS. She will want them no matter who is in it ... tee hee still got my fingers crossed on my Steelers .... Hope is eternal |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: gnu Date: 20 Nov 13 - 02:44 PM Pete... highlights are good. Anything that takes 4 days to watch? Not so much. Dan.... GO BRONCOS! (I hope you get to go to The Show.) |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: GUEST,jts Date: 21 Nov 13 - 12:21 AM Bobert, Cam is an obnoxious hot dog but there is a lot of character on the rest of the team. Cam is growing up but way too slowly. But I like me some DEEEFeeense!! So I love these Panthers. Did you see what Carolina D Did to the best QB I have seen. It is easy to win with Decker, Welker and 2 Thomas's Try it with an Edleman and a Dobson! I hope you get to go to New Jersey to watch the Game OD, But I hope its Panthers vs Pats. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: Pete Jennings Date: 21 Nov 13 - 05:59 AM Big dance = the Rosebowl game? |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: gnu Date: 21 Nov 13 - 02:42 PM Pete... NCAA basketball. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sorry Pats fans... From: GUEST,jts Date: 21 Nov 13 - 10:18 PM The Rose Bowl is not nearly as prestigious or important as it used to be. The are are a dozen reasons why. It all ads up to the best teams don't play in it anymore. |
