Subject: RE: BS: TPP ..Big Eagle strike again . From: GUEST Date: 19 Nov 13 - 11:18 PM The Trans-Pacific Partnership. Secret negotiations since 2010, the Obama administration hiding the negotiations from the American people. I expect the leaders of the other countries involved are hiding the details from their citizens too. This thing, if passed, will destroy national sovereignty--American, Canadian, Australian and so on. Fortunately Obama just got caught in a career-destroying lie (Obamacare), so he's losing political power. He probably won't be able to get our congress to act on this. I've contacted my Senators and Representative about the issue, but I'll do that again, tell them to vote No on any TPP legislation. Thanks for the link. The video sums up the problem nicely. What is the Big Eagle, by the way? |
Subject: RE: BS: TPP ..Big Eagle strike again . From: Joe Offer Date: 19 Nov 13 - 11:29 PM Well, Michele Bachmann opposes the TPP Trans-Pacific Partnership, and I can't say that the people on this video seem like towering intellects. On the contrary, they sound like unemployed televangelists. Oh, and we have an anonymous Guest who is vehemently opposed to TPP. All of those seem to be good reason not to be too worried about the treaty. -Joe- |

Subject: RE: BS: TPP ..Big Eagle strike again . From: Musket Date: 20 Nov 13 - 12:19 PM Dear Q, If it is, can I offer you Belgium in return for New Zealand? Their unoaked Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs are getting a bit expensive at the decent end of the range and only Californians appreciate good wine, and they have enough of their own. You'd like Belgium. They could host the headquarters for you and show you how to spend members' money. They do a wonderful line in gravy trains that could be exported across the Pacific rim... And if you ever need somewhere for your armies to march through on their way to invade other countries, they can arrange roadside cheering crowds to wave you through. They are well rehearsed, so it wouldn't be any trouble. (Ok, France for Singapore? ) |
Subject: RE: BS: TPP ..Big Eagle strike again . From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 20 Nov 13 - 12:31 PM Musket thanks for your generous offer, but I would have to be drowning in Belgian chocolate (or something of similar color) before I would take it. Singapore? Throw in Sharanjit Leyl and--- Some time ago there was a British comedy sitcom about the EU fat cat syndrome in Brussels. A damn good series. |
Subject: RE: BS: TPP ..Big Eagle strike again . From: GUEST,michaelr Date: 20 Nov 13 - 03:28 PM The TPP is NAFTA on steroids. And "fast-tracking" is in effect an attempt to curtail debate. Be very afraid. Better yet, contact your representatives and tell them to vote against it. |
