Subject: BS: TEST Cricket? From: WalkaboutsVerse Date: 09 Dec 13 - 07:28 AM Our English forebears invented some great games, but test cricket is NOT one of them: whilst an air-swing goes unpunished, if a batsman is good enough to at least get an edge, they may well get out. With the Ashes on, my argument as to why limited-over cricket is a far-better game - my poem "Dot-Ball": http://walkaboutsverse.blogspot.co.uk/2010/10/walkaboutsverse-165-of-230.html |

If you do not like Test Cricket then simply do not watch it. I am inclined to think that you do not truly understand the game in it's entirety. It is not only about hitting the ball and scoring runs. There are both physical and psychological aspects to the game. It can, played well, be the most diverting of games. As I have said before it can be akin the Chess but with men, willow and leather. Not that I was thinking that at 1am this morning when Australia had given us yet another pasting. Alas, alack, woe is English Cricket. |
