Subject: BS: Lane,Fielding,Patterson,&Swan UPDATE From: catspaw49 Date: 14 Jan 14 - 11:20 AM As many of you are not on FaceBook, let me give you the latest update from Lane, Fielding, Patterson, and Swan---Layabouts At Large and For Hire. We had a sort of board meeting by phone and with news on several fronts thought it was a good time to share the latest and tell you of an exciting upcoming event. We just had a board meeting by phone and it seems we are getting it back together after accidents and illnesses have attacked the lazy-ass founders. On the one hand this has slowed things down when you are forced to heal it takes away from time we can layabout profitably. On the other hand, is your hand. Put it down....Two doors down on the right and don't piss on the floor. * Lane is still undergoing tests but things look brighter for him. This is all good because the SOB has been doing actual work and a moment at work is one less moment when he could be stretched out and farting on your sofa. * Patterson is pretty much as always but with a new twist which has stabilized enough to be back doing sweet damn all for profit and always looking for more billable hours. At some point down the road he is likely to join Fielding and then you will see the profits really soar! * Swan has finally settled back in after being badly racked up. I mean, how many people you know who break a femur ferchrissakes? But with hardware removed he's getting back into the swing of things and is available for all manner debauchery. Not that we have to debauch anything really, we just layabout. The debauchery is an added bonus. * Fielding is of course still dead. We recently did award an overdue honor as Rick was the first partner to pass the 75,000 billable hour mark. We are also planning a special celebration in March honoring his 10 years of 24/7/365 service to the firm. There was talk of a watch but what would be the fuckin' point? Join us though for the celebration! So there is your update and the news of a future event I know you won't want to miss. When you don't have the time to do nothing and you need a break, call us! We do absolutely nothing for you! It is the least we can do......the very least. Spaw |
Subject: RE: BS: Lane,Fielding,Patterson,&Swan UPDATE From: SINSULL Date: 14 Jan 14 - 11:33 AM Thank you, Mr Patterson. Now we can skip the Annual Board Meeting and continue being bored. |
Subject: RE: BS: Lane,Fielding,Patterson,&Swan UPDATE From: Jack the Sailor Date: 14 Jan 14 - 12:04 PM LOL Bored Meeting!!!! |
Subject: RE: BS: Lane,Fielding,Patterson,&Swan UPDATE From: gnu Date: 14 Jan 14 - 12:23 PM I did not know Swan took a dive. That'll teach him for shirking his jerking. |
Subject: RE: BS: Lane,Fielding,Patterson,&Swan UPDATE From: GUEST, topsie Date: 14 Jan 14 - 12:25 PM I must have missed whatever it was that this is an update of. Is Patterson related to Micca by any chance? |
Subject: RE: BS: Lane,Fielding,Patterson,&Swan UPDATE From: catspaw49 Date: 14 Jan 14 - 12:52 PM Well Topsie and others who may also be saying wtf?......... LFPS is one of the older Mudcat stories dating back to 2000. Here is a thread from 2002 that might better explain.....LFPS The Patterson is me and Micca and I are probably 2918th cousins 17 times removed. We are both notorious assholes although he, and only he, is an arsehole! Also for your edification, Rick Fielding was a fantastic mudcat member and a great friend who died back in 2004 and for some of us it seems like yesterday. If it seems crass to continue to joke as we do about Rick, then recall the words of Lord Byron(George Gordon): If I laugh at any mortal thing, t'is that I may not weep. Spaw (Pat Patterson) |
Subject: RE: BS: Lane,Fielding,Patterson,&Swan UPDATE From: maeve Date: 14 Jan 14 - 02:41 PM Thanks, Pat. Love, Maeve |
Subject: RE: BS: Lane,Fielding,Patterson,&Swan UPDATE From: Nigel Parsons Date: 14 Jan 14 - 03:09 PM Lane,Fielding,Patterson,&Swan Last posting September 2003. Don't you think you're being a little precipitous posting an update now? I'm sure you could have left it a few more years! |
Subject: RE: BS: Lane,Fielding,Patterson,&Swan UPDATE From: catspaw49 Date: 14 Jan 14 - 04:56 PM Actually we've been discussed many times since then on many threads. Try entering LFPS in the forum search in the upper corner. Or just take my word for it..........LOL........ Spaw |
Subject: RE: BS: Lane,Fielding,Patterson,&Swan UPDATE From: MMario Date: 14 Jan 14 - 04:56 PM I don't know - 10 years between annual updates is pretty d*nged good. |
Subject: RE: BS: Lane,Fielding,Patterson,&Swan UPDATE From: catspaw49 Date: 14 Jan 14 - 04:58 PM I also might mention that "ANNUAL" never appears. Spaw |
Subject: RE: BS: Lane,Fielding,Patterson,&Swan UPDATE From: Rapparee Date: 14 Jan 14 - 08:22 PM I thought it was "Anal" updates of the Anal Bored Meeting. But I was an English Major. That is, I studied English literature (and some American literature) in college. I was never in the British army, thank god -- the US Army was bad enough. |
Subject: RE: BS: Lane,Fielding,Patterson,&Swan UPDATE From: Big Mick Date: 14 Jan 14 - 08:51 PM I am searching for the initial post where I founded the firm. So far the earliest post I can find is one of Spaw's from 1 December 1999 where he references being being a Board member. I remember calling it Lane, Fielding & Swann, Layabouts At Large. I also remember swapping the name order from time to time. But I sure would like to find my initial post setting up the firm. All the best, Mick |
Subject: RE: BS: Lane,Fielding,Patterson,&Swan UPDATE From: catspaw49 Date: 14 Jan 14 - 09:45 PM I can't find it either. Probably on something about something entirely different as the thread drift back then was monstrous and epic........ Spaw |
Subject: RE: BS: Lane,Fielding,Patterson,&Swan UPDATE From: Janie Date: 14 Jan 14 - 09:45 PM Sorry, Mick, that historic founding post appears to have been lost to history. Maybe never happened - confined to secretive closed door pm's and phone calls because y'all were afraid of losing revenues if others caught on too soon, and maybe stole the copyright. Or if it did happen, in writing, and was not preserved, it now lives only in the annals of oral history, and is now bonafide folklore! Assuming that is the case, all other posts regarding same now qualify to be posted "Above the Line!" How does it feel to be prehistoric layabouts? |
Subject: RE: BS: Lane,Fielding,Patterson,&Swan UPDATE From: Rapparee Date: 14 Jan 14 - 10:00 PM Oh, fer...have you asked the NSA? I bet they'd know. |
